Just as Willy said, if it's regular styrene plastic, "Plastruct Plastic weld" is the best.

https://www.amazon.com/Plastruct-Plastic-Weld-applicator-2oz/dp/B00FDFWJD8/ref=asc_df_B00FDFWJD8/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=312184153387&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=9544976491678282297&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9007234&hvtargid=pla-568799913766&psc=1

If you cannot get it in Japan, Tamiya plastic glue could do passable job.  It's just that plastic weld works 300% better.  If you put a sheet (or a beam) of styrene under it to reinforce, it would be stronger than before.  I used Plastic Weld for a crack on my Grasshopper.  If it were to tear again, it will tear up the plastic sheets too.  But before that happens somewhere else will break first.

Plastic glues work by melting the plastic and fusing them.  Unlike Plastic Weld, Tamiya glue is designed for delicate model kits, so it is designed for fools like me, who make errors and take the parts off after gluing.  Plastic weld is so strong, you can't take off anything.  And the styrene sheets I put on is flexible, so even though it is reinforced, that area still gives a little (unlike super glue).

If nothing else is available, then epoxy would have to do.  It doesn't melt, it works by sticking to things.  I'd still reinforce with something else on the backside (like a ball point pen or something).

Yes it's just the same black plastic everything else is made out of.

"If you cannot get it in Japan"
Possibly, and probably it won't be called anything useful like "plastiweld" :(

Oh except there is -- for $230 :D

Searching amazon for "styrene glue" I get these: https://www.amazon.co.jp/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?__mk_ja_JP=カタカナ&url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=styrene+glue&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Astyrene+glue

Top row, third from the left -- is that the kind of thing I should be looking for?

Hmm, getting a lot of "PVC pipe" adhesive when I search google for "plastiweld". Is it the same stuff? Cos I can get that easy at the hardware store...

After a modicum of research, I went for some PVC pipe cement, containing methyl ethyl ketone and acetone. Supposed to be the same as Plastiweld...We'll see.

Well that didn't work.

No melting, no sticking, which is probably a good thing as I dropped the brush on the carpet...and nothing happened :D The chrome peeled off a bit was all...

Back to epoxy. Which is fine, because I'm going through a phase where I like the "distressed" look and it's not a functional part...and I'm missing a few chips from it :D

Ooh ooh I discovered a model shop "near" my house that I didn't know existed, and it looks like they have a good selection of parts, but they have a drift track outdoors so I'm not hopefully they have any decent kits...yes I'm irrationally disdainful of RC drift cars :o

Those parts are still available. Save yourself the grief and buy a new parts tree

Maybe if I can find 'em cheap. I don't mind an ugly finish, the trucks for beating on not looking pretty :D

Never mind the clod, how are you going to repair whatever it hit?  :)  There must be a clod sized crater somewhere, or you may have even fractured the Earths core. :) The gravitational pull on clod is much stronger than on other vehicles because of the increased mass. So this sort of thing is inevitable. I've heard the only way to stop it is to increase wheelbase so it spins the world a bit slower when it accelerates.

Metal fence, perfectly designed to let the front wheels and bumper under it and the body smash into it :(

I cant imagine you can get Selleys in Japan, but there is a product call All Plasticfix. I have glued a shattered 1:1 sideskirt. A split King Cab chassis. A body post that snapped in half. Two of my daughters 5c tiara's, a fairy toy, and numerous other plastic things.

Brilliant stuff.

We can get some Selley's and there's similar stuff I found online here -- but they way like $250 a bottle for it :o I might see if I can find some in NZ when we're home this home...

$250 bucks for glue? wow... i am surprised there nothing that strong in Japan for a decent price. I remember years ago i had a CA glue from japan that was literally covered in warnings to not get any on your hands and let me tell you they were not kidding...lol

You can buy cyanoacrylate at the $1 store. But actual brand name Plastiweld is some jackass importing it and sticking a ridiculous price on it.

I have a little FB page called "Go home Amazon you're drunk" where, for my own amusement, I upload screen grabs and links of the most stupidly priced things I stumble across. $250 for glue is not even trying :D

Got some actual Tamiya CA and that worked better.

I forgot the joys of sticking all my fingers together, to the pieces, to the table. And the fingerprint scanner on my phone :(

Took Juggular's advice and added some beef in there. We'll see :)

It all cleaned/rubbed off fairly rapidly, even the button on my phone is 90% clean :D I have far more lasting amusement with epoxy :o

The $1 store CA is a slightly smaller tube -- basically one use ... but then, isn't every tube of CA? :D The Tamiya tube was $3.80 so almost 4 times mark up -- not even trying :D

How about a $40,000 beach towel? Often times it's EXACTLY the same product that costs like $20. I'm pretty sure there's some kind of money laundering scam going on...
