If Tamiyablog is right, then it's 58666

Surely that should have been for the comical Bush Devil?

There's no (clearly visible) Tamiya branding on the decal sheet, but the Grasshopper has Tamiya badges, so looks like a repro set

I see the repro sponsors, and also see that the shell is noticeably shorter than the regular Hornet's. Legitimate or not, this is how I picture a Comical Hornet body set would look.

But I do hope this is legitimate, and the lack of copyrights point to the set being a prototype, since the Comical product lineup does add some life and fun into the lineup of Tamiya buggies. I am already wishing for a Comical Hotshot, however unlikely/ungainly that would be!

Jeez, the forum would melt if it was 2WD though - it's bad enough when Tamiya release a kit based on a real car but put the motor at the wrong end

Love it! Will get the ComHor to go with my ComGra. And I'm totally fine with a ComHot that's 2wd. All of you who would freak out over that, just remember you are grown adults playing with toys.:P:lol:

The Comical Hornet body available on eBay is made by Kingfly. I bought two of them a couple of months ago. The quality is actually very good. The wing is a direct copy of the "real" Hornet's wing though. Also, the body has the "bump" on the right side that was necessary on the original Hornet release for the throttle servo arm clearance and the cut lines in the rear are just straight and not as on the "real" Hornet. Good value for the money, but now that the Tamiya Comical Hornet is in the pipeline not that interesting anymore.

I would imagine the "Comical Hotshot" would be on the GF-01 chassis, were they to bring it out. Not sure how they would monoshock it though.

This looks like a good start to the season. It was just yesterday or so I was on the cusp of getting the HKS decal set from MCI for a GTR. The 47395 TA02 Center One-Way Set doesn't hurt either.  Last week I was looking for the mountaineer k parts (rollbar) and now the whole truck is available. All we need now is another monster truck offering.

I'm pretty excited for the Comical Hornet too, awesome. Look forward to a Watanabe livery set. Also saw soft compound  bubble tires on that list.

For anybody wondering what a Comical Hotshot might look like:

Although this effort does not look like a standard Tamiya chassis, or at least a standard WR-02/GF-01-type chassis.

Back on topic: I wonder if there is any other way the Hornet shell can be reinterpreted for a Comical release, or if that aftermarket shell is more or less what we will see.

I'm guessing a higher roof to allow Willy some head room !

You're not alone @78Triumph. I mean, they're "cute" and all, but they don't particularly do anything for me. Its odd considering the original Wild Willy is in my top 3 favorite Tamiyas, but that's where my interest ends. I guess I preferred it when the Wild Willy (and to a degree, the Willy's Wheeler) was an outlier in the Tamiya line up rather than part of an actual line within the Tamiya line up (that's a lot of "lines").

I must be the only one on this forum that doesn't understand the appeal of the comical series of cars.

Nope, me either. Kinda fun, but if it's these instead of new design proper buggies (which it appears to be) it's a no from me.

I won't be getting one either!

Yes, it's good to have more model choices, but I recently got the Honda city turbo......would prefer more rere's and more custom coloured parts etc

That’s because they forgot the Bear. I want a black and red hornet with the Bear driving..

I’ll get my coat.

A rare picture of Triumph, Saito, Cy and taffer hanging out.

I remember that day. The sunrise was beautiful and the air coming off the water was nice and cool.;) That's funny! Good thing I had just put my tea down. A stick in the mud, I can be at times. Guilty as charged .
