Ok , so I widened the rear track of my LB to match or improve on the width of the front after the FX10 mod .The front track was approx 3 / 4mm wider than the rear after mod . I set about cutting a LB rear drive hub , I removed the rear drive turret to leave just the front flat disc . I then countersunk the holes at each wheel recess on the flat disc to take a 2.5mm x 12mm csk bolt . I bolted the 12mm bolt to the front disc with a 2.5mm nut  , added a second nut to take up the space , then fitted the full intact rear drive plate to the back of the flat disc , thus making a 5mm wider drive disc , then by drilling out 5 x 2.5 nuts to 3mm to slip over the bolt thus filling the recess, then fitted another locking nut over the spacer nut to tighten the second drive disc down tight . The wheels just needed a clean round the front of the axle hole face to accept the barrel nut , cut down the barrel nut by 4mm approx and bolt up - go to go .

The mad bull has a similar style gearbox but a lot more width.,looking at it, a shortened mad bull might be fun. :)  :)

Food for thought  ;)- I didn't want to overcook the widening here , just enough to offset the modded / wider front track .

I hung a Madbull axel off the back end of a Lunchbox but did not have a way to widen the front so took it all to bits again.

Here are some pics of wider track , a brief summary of parts used (cut off turret and cut down barrel nut shown ) and finished drive hub .

What do you have here in the middle of the cassis, where the esc sits?

I tried another track widening mod which I had thought about doing before I did the double disc mod . It involves simply drilling a 2mm pin hole 4mm further foreward from the original one and at 90 degrees to the original to retain more metal at that point . I'm not sure how it will hold up , but the original shafts never seemed to have a problem here and it's a small hole . A spacer fits behind the drive hub to cover the 1150 bearing in the axle and take up the space . A barrel nut is used to mount the wheel 559404361_axleredrilledat4mm4.thumb.JPG.e220c4a11d1b7310970830e7ed89e07c.JPG

Cool mods.

Has anyone tried the Frog hex adapter and WW, GF-01, Konghead whels/tires? I'll give it a try this evening and let you know if it works as well.

I did try that combo first, but the WW2 rims are narrower than the LB even with the hex's on and the overall rim to rim outer width ends up the same . Tamiya designed it that way to still get the nut on as it's an adapter and not a modification

Lunchbox with DT-01 front arms and axle. Just came across the photos randomly

Holy mother of awesome. With a setup like that, you wouldn't have to use travel limiters on the shocks because wheel arch grinding would no longer be an issue. I bet that thing can bottom all the way out, probably over twice the travel of the stock Lunchbox.

I thought it looked odd so I split it up again

I like the look of it  , but did you still have the  camber / tracking oddities like the stock fronts have ? as it still has fixed uprights

Yes that was the other issue, massive travel come with massive camber change.

I should have done a mod like yours on the front.

I thought it might . I did experiment with a front end from a Kyosho Ultima . With some effort I probably could get it to work . The main obstacle is that there is no platform to mount the Ultima front beam , just a big void - a simple enough fix I guess with a bit of cut and thrust and a Dremmel . I might revisit that mod
