Are we thinking this is the same shell as the wr02?

Hope it is because i have a spare shell and no chassis..!

The Wheelie T1 shell is "officially" 1/12 scale, but because of its caricature look, the scale varies between about 1/10 to 1/14. I measured it against the measurements of the 1/1 vehicle.

Comparison of 1/1 vs. Wheelie T1:

1/1 vehicle: width 1660mm vs. Wheelie T1: 135mm => 1/12.3 scale

1/1 vehicle body height 1510mm vs. Wheelie T1: approx.: 140mm => 1/10.7 scale

1/1 vehicle wheelbase 2400mm vs. Wheelie T1: 172mm. => 1/14 scale.

1/1 vehicle length approx 4290mm* vs. Wheelie T1: 305mm => 1/14.1 scale

(*depending slightly on bumper type, "standard" or "export")

Comparison of 1/1 vs. M-06 T1:

The new shell is most likely very close to 1/10 scale overall as it's on the M-06 chassis. If it's the M-06L as expected, width and wheelbase would be correct for a 1/10 T1.

1/1 vehicle width 1660mm vs. M-06L approx 168mm, but varying a little depending on hubs used.

1/1 vehicle wheelbase: 2400mm, vs. M-06L wheelbase: 239mm.

As the Maisto VW T1 is very close to true 1/10 scale and virtually a direct fit on any LWB M-chassis, a comparison photo of the Wheelie T1 and Maisto T1 body is an indication of the size difference we can likely expect between the Wheelie T1 and M0-06 T1 bodies, so I just took some photos:

I’ve got way too many cars already but I’ll have to get one of these. A set of HPI cup racer Porsche wheels would make this bus pop

Nice as it looks! Come on tamiya give us something we can get really excited about not just something that's been done before and re-colours of old rc's (lunchbox) is just a cop out🤔 hopefully tamiya will pull something out of the bag on the day at Nuremberg? Fingers crossed 🤞

Has anyone landed one yet? They can’t be far away? I am intrigued to know whether there is a new body or not as I also have a couple of the WHeelie bodies. Whatever it is I will be ordering a couple of these....

Personally I think the shell on an Xpresso K-Chassis is a great alternative...

Now that the Tamiya 58668 is available for some time, I cannot find too many builds so far! I just got the kit myself, as I could not resist any longer to build me a nice Sunday (almost) scale cruiser. I cannot bring myself to use the kit bodymounts in the roof. First, because of the looks, second they are quite wobbly because of their length. So Im looking for options to make some more hidden mounts  of any way. Did anyone on here have a brillant idea or is working on the same problem?

Br,

Matthias

Some magnetic mounts and  a simple cross brace with slopeing pieces tying the body post together would be the way to go.

Sounds also reasonable to me. I haven´t used magnetic mounts so far, but probably will do it the first time. In Addition I think About a cross mount with 2 big L-shaped plastic rails shoe goed in the shell below the windows to stiffen the whole thing. Would also leave space for a little interiour / cockpit set (probably very) later on. I found now one guy, that really customized the kit a lot:

Unfortunately, he does not reveal his Solutions very much, but great work on the Tamiya kit.
