58670 Citroen 2CV Rally (M-05RA) incoming! Reveal at Nuremberg?

Recommended Posts

Would have preferred it on the MF-01x chassis tbh but this will be more realistic obviously.

Boring already have a 4wd 2CV on an MF01x chassis. ;) Will make a drifter out of it now. :)

Looks like a sand ladder for when you take your 2CV on the Dakar.

@JennyMo, reckon you could get Willy into one of these?

I hate those cars with a passion.

Then again, it only takes 12 days to turn one into a motorcycle to save you from a 20 mile walk.

I don't get it. I really don't.

Wow amazing story but I can’t imagine how it holds up without a blow torch or something and he still remembers to put on license plate in despite time like this.. kudos:-)

I like the new Rally 2CV, so don't get me wrong, but as meanwhile typical for Tamiya, they are a bit lazy when adopting an already existing body for a new version, although the Rally 2CV is much better carried out than their Rally Beetle. And it's got potential, so I look very much forward to make my own version. And it won't be boxart, that's for sure!

Anyway, I wish Tamiya would be a little more like they were in the early years of their RC-models, with no shortcuts (decals to cover the not used of multiple body mount holes like on the re-re Blackfoot? Yuck!) and make an RC-model with lots of new parts and an execution with total care down to the most minute detail. I realize that in the early days of their RC-models, sales were concentrated on only just a few models, prices were much higher and the quantity sold of each model was generally higher, which doesn't allow them to spend as much time and effort on new variations of a model now as they did in the past, but I'm dreaming nonetheless!

When releasing a Rally Citroen, it could for instance have been something like the car in the link or photos below:

I thought cars were supposed to carry 2 sand ladders? One for each front/rear tire?

Regardless, it is a neat accessory to include on a vehicle like this, if an odd place to put it.

Overhere the 2CV Is still common, i see them daily. I have driven them many times but I am not sure if a sand ladder on that location is a good plan. The car will lean to that side and after a few kilometers the roof structure will collapse.
