Cephas 530 Posted January 31, 2019 Just started my Top Force build, my Xmas present from the family. These forums have been an amazing help as a newbie, jackdaripper’s build and man1c m0nk3y guide to diffs and gearbox’s were a massive help. guess the difference. The shock towers are 3mm fibre-lyte and the chassis plates are stock the carbon fibre wrap, a great idea from jackdaripper, they look great.

Man1c M0nk3y 564 Posted February 3, 2019 Yay. Another TF build. Still not finished mine 😳 Hope anything I said was right now 😂 They are a fun build. I really need to finish it.
Cephas 530 Posted February 6, 2019 Finished front and rear shock tower set ups with suspension etc. Fastrax 157 shocks, they look nice, could justify the more expensive options right now. Hpi shock tower caps, evo turnbuckles, drilled and tapped gear boxes. Here are a few pictures.

Cephas 530 Posted February 8, 2019 Made some cv type boots with heat shrink tube, as it seemed a bit sloppy, have to see how it works.

Interesting to see that the standard shaft is loose/sloppy too. I have the Yeah Racing one as do other on here and that has a lot of fore/aft play. Never fitted the standard one so was unsure if the same. Did fit two o-rings (one in each cup) on the YRacing one but not happy. Someone else recently posted the heatshrink method for the YRacing shaft and cups so going to have to try it. Looks very neat solution on yours. Almost like it was by design. Cephas 530 Posted February 9, 2019 I think we both read the same post, shaft move back and forth, front to back, can’t use an o ring on the stock piece, so I thought this was a great solution 😀
Man1c M0nk3y 564 Posted February 9, 2019 Yeah definitely worth a try. Just need to find the time to take it apart and do it.
Cephas 530 Posted February 10, 2019 Servo is in, ordered a longer horn, as this is one I had left over and is to short, restricts the steering.
Cephas 530 Posted February 10, 2019 Wheels arrived yesterday 😀
Cephas 530 Posted February 16, 2019 New servo horn installed, also changed plastic support for a stainless steel one I found on eBay, it’s a drone stand off part.
Cephas 530 Posted February 16, 2019 Changed M3 down rod on the rear shock tower support for a thicker one.
Cephas 530 Posted February 16, 2019 Finished the under tray, did occur to me while doing this that Perrioni and cutting implements may not be a good idea, but still have all my digits so that’s ok 😀
Cephas 530 Posted February 16, 2019 Wheels on, just the electronics and body to go.
Cephas 530 Posted September 9, 2019 Finally finished my Top Force and have decided I hate cutting body shells. Opted to go full carbon fibre for the chassis too, as well as the shock towers I had previously fitted. She is going to be a shelf queen for now as I have put way too much time into her to dare do any damage, I would be gutted. This is the reason there are no electronics fitted and also why I have not sprayed the body shell, I like looking at it like this. Besides I still have 2 runners atm, and 2 more I am working on,.
