Not Tamiya but anyone want to see the restoration?

Recommended Posts

Got a delivery from Japan this morning. Anyone interested in restoration threads on these? The Kyosho 959 is a keeper. The Kyosho 405 will be tidied up for sale.

Does that 405 have a second wing stuck to the first one? That's... unusual.

Love those Bridgestone Potenza tyres. I got through about two dozen of those BITD racing my Mid on tarmac, back when you could wear them out and just buy a new set the next week. I imagine they're probably worth a fortune now.

Hi, it did yes. First thing to go in the bin!

The tyres aren't to bad and once washed, refitted and the white lettering done they will look ok.

I also think they might be on backwards. On tyres with a tread which is different across the carcass, the 'arrow' usually points forwards on the top of the tyre, if you see what I mean.

Yes. I'd love to see these restored in detail.

I will make a thread for the 959.

As above love that 405, the 959 not so much I am afraid. Nice find though :)

James.

Thats ok James. I purchased the 959 for its rarity as it was a very limited issue from Kyosho. In fact its only the body, exhaust and wheels that Kyosho made. The rest is Hoboa. It will be a good addition to my nitro collection.

LOL, I had a quick look yesterday and all the ball joint have split so the threaded rods pull out. A new set on the whole car will sort that out. As this will go on Ebay eventually I will aim to make the car presentable for sale.
