That'll provide the power for pulling, but will it put up with low speeds?

A 55 turn will cut the speed in half, from about 20kph top speed to about 10.

A 55t is good for outside, but if driving on a layout an 85 turn or higher would be better and a lower pinion. From memory a 10 tooth is factory, and the smallest 0.8 module is an 8 tooth.

You can also use gear reduction units.

I have 55 turns in all of my 5 trucks.

You will want quite a torquey motor if pulling a fair bit of weight. I have one of those 55t rc4wd motors in a knight hauler with MFC, the all alloy semi trailer, with lights, support legs, and extra parts and chicken lights (with a 4xAA pack) and have been thinking of upgrading to a Tekin 55T HD or similar motor as this rig would be the heaviest in my fleet.

  • Thanks 1
