As far as I know ta02 blue knuckles are the same as ta03 black/grey knuckles, do if you have blue Honza is right you have the long span suspension set.

You can use black DF01 or Hummer knuckles

TA02/TA03/CC01 knuckles are the same and are different from TA01/DF01. On the TA02 they are used with longer lower arms to reduce the scrub radius of the front wheels. TA02W actually has TA01 knuckles but with TA02 arms to increase the track width but it needs special (longer) shafts.

@bjorklo I meant the rear knuckles, not the arms. The knuckles have 1.5 degrees of toe-in built in and should be mounted the right way round otherwise you'll end up with toe-out which handles very poorly and a slightly off wheelbase. Yours actually are mounted correctly, it just looks funny with the spacers for the adjustable turnbuckles.

These are TA02/03/CC01 knuckles. They give you ~10mm narrower front, if you use them with TA01 arms. DF01/TA01 use two 1150 and same wheel axles as rear hubs.

Do you want a narrow front?

Since the yellow arms you're using are TA01 arms, you'll need TA01 (DF01) knuckles. (+ axle and extra 1150 bearings)

The old TA02 knuckles you have will fit but your dogbone axle will be too long and won't fit.

Now I understand... I thought arms were the same length..

Then I will see what I have in my spare parts box, I think the only thing I might need is the axle.

I dyed the yellow dampers black, using Rit dye. 

I wish all tamiya parts would take dye it would have been so much fun.. Or at least Tamiya could have released all the parts in white hop-up parts, so we could have dyed them as we please. 

Next is to finish the front suspension and steering.

The Jagermeister shell is a classic, but the yellow Auto Tech M3 body set would be cool to see on the yellow chassis!

Glad you like it and that you like the builds I do. 

Yeah it would have been pretty cool to have the yellow Auto Tech M3 body. Just a quick search on ebay, I could only see the decals but they were crazy expensive. Don't think there is any reproductions to get either..

I search through my parts box and guess what, I found all the parts I need to finish the front suspension and steering. 

I even found some cool turnbuckle for the steering

You can see that TA01 arms a quite a bit shorter on the length of the turnbuckle

I consider this chassis done for now. I hope you have enjoyed this build. 

Next for this car is to add a driver and map reader and a light kit. Also it fine adjustments in setup. 

Since my original plan was to build a runner and there is now way I can get myself to run this, other than in my living room, I just might have to build myself a runner chassis

Someone suggested that I should get some yellow wheels for this chassis, so I did. 

I think it looks really good. So I had to try the BMW M3 body on the chassis to see how it looks. 

To my big surprise, these wheels looks even better on than the bbs wheels. So these are now the main wheels for this car. 

I also added a cockpit to the body. This is the old one that was in the other body, but it will do for now. 

The chassis on my car of the week shelf.

Not really a fan of the wheels. I feel like using knockoff wheels takes away from all the cool rare Tamiya parts that are on this car.

I c your point. To me that's not big deal.. I know myself how rare the parts are and how lucky I am to have them, so if I use another brand wheels, to get the total look I'm looking for, that's OK for me.

I think that Traxxas made yellow brushed ESC in the past. And I've seen Savox servo with yellow anodizing, but that won't be cheap

Thanks for the tip... Did a quick search and it's the xl5 esc from Traxxas that came in yellow. It would have been cool to have, but not sure if I'm going to add electronics to this car...
