The "Less is More" Bush Devil

Recommended Posts

I clearly remember from "back then", how customers generally were a bit disinclined against the Bush Devil because of the "devil" decals and combination of colours. Once I built a Bush Devil for a customer's son, and was instructed to not use the "devil" stickers, which I thankfully was allowed to keep. They came in handy when restoring a Bush Devil a couple of years ago. Still, to me, the Bush Devil was never really "right" in its combination of pink wheels and slightly provocative paint scheme and stickers.

Then I recently stumbled over this on eBay, and to me it demonstrates how attractive a Bush Devil can look (with a little help from the Landfreeder). With all due respect to the builders of great Bush Devils out there, this is the best-looking Bush Devil I've ever seen.

The Landfreeder is a great alternative body if don't want to mess up a Blackfoot body on an ORV runner chassis without loosing the chassis Monster Truck feel.

Would blue Madcap rear shockers match better (agree it looks great a lot less Toy like)

That is a GREAT looking truck. I think the 90s have a lot to answer for with tamiya decals. See also Super Astute compared to regular Astute, Dirt Thrasher vs Terra Scorcher, Blazing Star vs Terra Conqueror.

This is a handsome truck, homage to Bigfoot really isn’t it. I like the red shocks for contrast, like red callipers on a 1:1 car.

I have a similar plan for my bush Devil. Using Tamiya blue from the ranger 150 xlt. Got 2 lots of the back shocks from a rising fighter plus the chrome parts & trims on the arches from the landfreeder decals. Although I can’t resist a little devil decal somewhere...

i’ll keep My box art shell for the driving but it’s in a bad way with cracks and paint coming off.

@lowspot has similar in their showroom https://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=133015&id=49348
