Gazzalene 171 Posted February 14, 2019 Building a Scania and not 100% sure on linkage. The linkage rod connects at the gearbox end to a ball and collar. This ball and collar slides onto the shift rod and held in position by a set screw. I do not know if I should slide this right up to the circlip towards gearbox? Or is it for fine tuning? Help would be great.
Mad Ax 9325 Posted February 14, 2019 You're right - it's not entirely clear on the gearbox assembly page. However looking at the gear setup page (I'm looking at P19 of the Scania R470 Highline manual - yours may be different) it seems to show the collar is up against the circlip. None of my rigs are in front of me so I can't say 100% but if I was assembling as per instructions today, that's how I'd do it. Any adjustment can be done in the link rod ends but I've not usually found it necessary.
Gazzalene 171 Posted February 14, 2019 Many thanks, to be honest I have looked again at the manual and I can see nothing. I am going to move it up to the circlip, not too much work.
Mad Ax 9325 Posted February 14, 2019 I'm sitting in front of my rigs right now and both are right up against the circlip. Both are running Tamiya MFUs (MFU-01 and MFU-03) and they shift with no problems.
