Boddney 162 Posted February 22, 2019 https://tamico.de/navi.php?a=62690&lang=eng What chassis would recommend for this shell? The listing doesn’t say what scale the shell is, it just says 257mm chassis. Is that the length in total or the gap between the the wheels. I guess it’s the length. I wish these things were more standard to make it clearer for us. Help please. Bod
Badcrumble 4181 Posted February 22, 2019 A TT01 looks like it might be the best bet http://www.rcmart.com/tamiya-51373-lexus-gs400-body-190mm-discontinued-p-28964.html

Shame it’s discontinued. That looks a good deal.

Jonathon Gillham 4595 Posted February 22, 2019 That will fit any normal sized 10th scale touring car, so you could choose TA, TB, TRF or TT cars - what do you want it for? If just a display then pick up a cheap TT02, if you want to run it and enjoy a more interesting build why not look at the TA07 or TB05? You've probably worked it out by now but the 257mm is the wheelbase which is usually the standard wheelbase for touring cars, and 190mm is the width. There are 200mm wide bodies around too. Badcrumble 4181 Posted February 22, 2019 Whilst the RC Mart listing says it only fits on the TT01 due to the height of the body, one of the reviews says it fits on a TB02. If you look on the TC main site, there are a few examples on TL01, TG10, TT01. There’s an HPI body too... https://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=132864&id=4685 https://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=81001&id=25197

Do you know why the height would be a problem? It would be interesting to see an updated list simce there are a heap of new chassis since the TT01. And hey, an excuse for the TA07R since surely the SSBB dampers would be fine!

If the bonnet is too low then some shock towers might not fit, if the rears were too high, surely you could use the bodypost extension (like I did on my Bowler)? Nevertheless, get the body from Tamico and a cheap TT01E from Tamico (they do them in bags, normally in the sale section, if not there are other, typically German, sellers on eBay), a few hop ups and you'll be sorted.
Shodog 1835 Posted February 22, 2019 It’s a good thing the body holes are not prepunched otherwise it would really limit your chassis selection. This chassis would look very nice under that kexus body I want to get one to use for a schnitzer m3 body Alloy & Carbon TT01 TT01E Shaft Drive 1/10 4WD Racing Car Chassis Frame Kit https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F261607459461
