Kept looking around for tyre inserts for the L/Boxes and couldn't find anything at a reasonable price - so I made some from upholstery bolster foam in medium density . I used a sharpened 42mm copper pipe joint to punch the centre out . I can make 2 sets for £6.99p  . They fit great and support well .

I was going to do this but found some in a chinese monster truck that fitted.

I wasnt sure how i would cut the outside neatly though.

They look good, how did you cut the outside?

This is made from a bolster foam which is basically a long foam sausage , so the outside is cut ready to go @ 100mm diameter and I just punched out the middle . What inserts did you find ?

I accidently aquired an incomplete hbx bonza (or whatever its called). I had already robbed the radio gear out of it and started pulling bearings out when i though 'i wonder...' and yes, it had foams. They wheels/tyres are the same size as monster beetle etc so the foams are a little narrow but by the time they were squished in they will do fine.

I hadn't thought about buying round section foam!

Is it open-cell or closed-cell? I understand if you don't know.

Pretty sure it is open cell

maybe 100mm will just fit the big bear tires too. ^_^

I'll need to measure that!

Yes it will , I just measured mine , they are just wider than the LB tyres  , so need to be cut at around 70mm wide . I'll see about putting some in mine as the B/Bear tyres are even squashier than the LB ones :)
