For a TA02 chassis, what is the wheelbase if I reverse the stock rear lower A arms?

regular TA02 has 258mm

TA02 with flipped TA01 arms - 251mm

TA02S (regular TA01 arms) - 236mm

Based on these figures, TA02 with flipped rear arms will be around 230mm

Why does everyone quote flipping TA01 arms on a TA02 chassis?   Would I need to buy new arms or did Tamiya reuse the same arm design between 01 and 02?

Interesting flipping arms only changes wheelbase by 6 to 7mm 🤔

Hey Frankster, you need swing arms 19000744 (which was used on the TA01 I believe)

https://www.rcmart.com/tamiya-ta02sw-f-parts-black-19000744-00072395

to make a standard size 257mm wheelbase TA02 to a 236mm wheelbase, or 251mm depending which way they are installed.

The kit supplied rear arms on a 257mm don’t flip, I tried with a Calibra kit and the arm on the motor side hit the motor when I did my Street Scorcher.

Hope that helps.

Edit :- Please disregard this post, the 19000744 part tree are in actual fact the front swing arms!!! See below. Apologies for the confusion.

Thanks.  Overall trying to shrink from 256mm to 175mm 😂. I think I will need to print the chassis but hoping to leave space for a servo and battery by flipping the arm

TA01 and TA02 share their gearbox design and arm mounts, so their design is very similar. But since TA01 has about 2cm longer chassis, its rear arms are angled forward - reversing them increases the wheelbase.

Oh wow, I see. In that case just fix the front gearbox directly to the rear gearbox and you should be close 😉

What are you making a comical Porsche or something??

Hi @Re-Bugged looking at the photo, it looks like a regular arm.  I was expecting more of a sweep.  The part is also called TA02SW.  Is this part correct?

I could not find any TA01 manuals online to confirm

So feeling like a bit of prize plum now after checking the manuals for a TA02SW Porsche 236mm Wheelbase and TA02 257mm Wheelbase my above post needs correcting @Frankster & @Thommo 😬

This is the correct rear swing parts that give you 236mm Wheelbase, TA02SW,  (it is actually the 10mm offset rear wheels in the Porsche kit that make it a W, wide)

And for the 257mm is this one. I found that these rear arms can’t be flipped as the one side fowls the motor,

As you can see 19000744 are included in both as they are for the front, apologies again for the confusion.

No worries.  Glad to clarify before buying parts.  Off sick today but need to find time and get a TA02 kit this weekend
