Saw this out of the box in person at my LHS yesterday, and it's really nice.  The wheels and hubs are really scale looking.  I hate to admit it, but Traxxas is really killing it these days.

Agreed! The wheels and hubs are spot-on!

In fact, if you lower it a bit and put in on scale-sized road tires (as opposed to the 35+ scale inch swampers it's on out of the box) you'd be hard-pressed to tell this from the real thing when photographed correctly.

There are a few minor nits to pick:

Wheel arches are too large (and rears are too far back)

Front hubs should have the locking switch in the middle instead of the "4x4" logo

No bolts in the front bumper

Windshield/A-pillars/front door windows look too flat and "lexan-y"

If you're going to go to this amount of trouble to detail it, figure out a way to mount the body besides traditional posts

...but overall, not bad. The grille and the roofline aren't distorted like the RC4WD one, at least.

Well, its not a Blazing Blazer, but it sure is tempting. Between Traxxas kits possibly resurfacing and this frankly, pretty awesome, TRX-4, they sure are killin' it lately. I think its great that the company is finally branching back out from their previous hard-line status quo of faster Faster FASTER! and more extreme Extreme EXTREME! marketing tactics (not that its not cool to see something as incredible as the X-Maxx out rolling around).

In the side profile shots the rears dont look so bad, I think it is because of how proud they sit in the 3/4 shot giving the impression they are further back than they are

Yeah, that's not as far off as I thought, but...

It's a good effort, especially from Traxxas, but it could be better. If you could take the front clip and door window shape from this one and graft it onto the RC4WD body, you'd be pretty much there.
