Another which colour should I choose thread

Recommended Posts

Hello guys and gals I would appreciate your opinion, I’m just about to paint my new body set for my 58005 Lamborghini countach restoration and can’t decide whether is should choose ts15 blue or ts8 Italian red

all my cars get painted box art and I’m usually set on this but all the info I can find says ts15 blue is the correct colour and it’s not the nicest colour for sporty car, that’s why I guess I see so many red examples

anyhoo I’d like to know what you experts think I should go with

thanks in advance

I dislike red cars, i especially dislike red lambos, such a cliché.

Its tamiyas 5th car, paint it box art ;)

To me, yellow is and always has been the right colour for a Lambo, just like Ferraris are red, Mercs are silver, etc.

Box art for me too.

And if your shell set is NIB I’d keep it like that - then restore a cactus with MCI decals for display.

If you did that - I’ve always loved a 70s white 500 ... just w/o the decal set 😬

White, because it would go extremely well with the white loafers you should be wearing when you run this model.

Edit: No socks obvs.

This should help you choose between red & blue...

See this I’d be going blue 👍🏻

Just did a quick image search... the first 30 were red, white, or yellow. Then this:

lamborghini-countach-lp400-periscopica-c

Definitely blue.

I'd vote for white too - shows off the angular joins and panel gap lines perfectly...

And consider a red leather interor for maximum 80's points!

That said, this episode of Top Gear with a young James May makes a good case for why Tamiya went with blue:

It looks stunning!

Uh oh... down the YouTube rabbit hole I go...

Found this (based on my original assumption), although the presenter/s are almost unbearable:

I've got to say though, the car does look even more dramatic in this colour scheme!

Thanks everybody for your suggestions , I can’t paint it black as I have a 58008 lambo cs about to go through the same process too. I think it’ll have to be ts15 blue as I know I’ll regret it if I go against box art

Does anybody know of a type of glue for bonding in the windows with out making the glass look dull as I think the windows only bond in with not much overlap
