Wildfire 2 Posted April 4, 2019 It’s finally arrived! I have wanted an Egress since 1990 and the reissue was posted today. So before I begin the build, which I will document, what are the essential upgrades I should get? I’ve been told bearings, but I believe the Egress comes with bearings? Are alloy uprights worth it? Anything else? I’m going to be building to run on tarmac once in a while, but mainly a shelf queen and then building a rere Manta Ray as a basher.
Superluminal 3730 Posted April 4, 2019 A driver for the cockpit. And the alloy c-hubs from yeah racing.
GTodd 1306 Posted April 6, 2019 Honestly nothing, all the improvements Tamiya made and the fibre reinforced plastics have made the Rere Avante family pretty robust. Get a good brushless and lipos and have fun!!!!
Wildfire 2 Posted April 10, 2019 Ah brushless! Something I am going to have to read up on! I only just understood the original motors!! That said I was 7 8 when the Egress came out!
WillyChang 1812 Posted April 10, 2019 A set of Tarmac tyres to suit original rims would be nice. Any buggy spikes/pins would be gone in a pack if used on roads. Something like StreetHawgs, dunno what's still being made today.
Rb4276 803 Posted April 10, 2019 Im going to use duratrax banditos on my egress. I use them for the street on all my cars and they have been great. You just need 2.2 size rims
Wildfire 2 Posted April 10, 2019 Awesome. Thanks. I’ve been looking at some replacement wheels for street tyres. Just some Absima’s to start with.
