Runner Monster Racer

As Im sure most of you know Ive got a thing for Monster Racers and King Cabs.  This has only been fueled by the recent King Cab rebuild that is underway.  This Monster Racer was given to me Christmas Day 1991 and has been a consistent runner since then.

I added Hi-caps in 2014, I purchased these pro-line progresive springs last year. They are PERFECT for this truck. Great in the back yard and track.  I added limiters inside the shocks to get the ride heigh perfect, more race truck, less monster truck now.  Tamiya gave these trucks tons of suspension travel. 

The biggest change from original was the addition of the AE Stealth transmision.  I am STRONG proponent of the Astute/Kingcab ball differential, but the lack of spares made me search out a solution. With the conversion kit the stealth is a drop in and there are countless spares and options to look toward. After a year of running the ball differential and slipper are still perfect.

I absolutley love these trucks and feel that Tamiya need to rere these. Will they stand a chance against modern race trucks, no. Can they compete with Stampedes ETC, yes.  Rere these trucks with the Super Astute Transmision, modify the chassis mold to fit more widly available lipos and you have a hit on your hands, again.
