After the discussion in the vintage section, I felt like I should post some photos of these two...

Behold: two old RC10s, both built on black-anodized "B" stamp tubs, both entirely built from the "leftover" parts I had from restoring a bunch of RC10s a few years ago. As such, none of the parts are great cosmetically, but they all work.

The first one is essentially Team Car-spec: Stealth transmission, long arms, long front shocks. It has a pair of Andy's front A-arms, and MIP shiny CVD axles, just because I had them, so why not use them?

The second one is more like the old original RC10 spec, with the short arms and a 6-gear transmission. This car still has a few odds and ends of "Old Number 1," the first RC10 that I ever had, bought at a pawn shop 25 years ago for $75. I couldn't find an extra pair of front shocks, but I happened to have a set of Kyosho Golds with no home, so on they went.

Here it is wearing a Protech body painted in the "clownfish" colors that I used to use when I was racing, many years ago. (It works great for telling which car is yours.) This one will use this body, but I'm not sure what to do for the Team car. I simply can't spend any money right now, so it wil have to be something I already have. I'll go through my old body stash and see if something appropriate pops up.

The idea behind both of these is to take them to an indoor carpet off-road track that I just discovered up in northeast Portland. They have a sort of "run-whatcha-brung" Novice class in addition to all the regular classes. For any other class, a brushless motor is required, but for Novice you can use just about anything, and I happen to have a handful of old Trinity stock motors (Monster Horsepower, Green Machine/Slot Machine, Midnight) that would fit the character of these perfectly, so that's what I'm going to use, but with 2S lipo batteries and 2.4g radios. Who knows, maybe I'll inspire other people to bring the old hardware out of retirement, and we can get an all-vintage class going...
