junkmunki 846 Posted May 1, 2019 I was looking at the Opel Ascona i am restoring and wondering how much fun it would be to drive if it was full size.... So my question is, if you could scale up one of your rc cars to full size and drive it, which one would you choose? J

TurnipJF 9192 Posted May 1, 2019 My real world cars have always been practical, affordable and if I'm honest rather dull. If I could turn one of my models into a real full-size car and drive it, it would have to be this one - totally impractical, not at all cheap and anything but dull!
Saito2 6686 Posted May 1, 2019 Great post! Tamiya has actually influenced many 1:1 purchases in my life. I got into Jeeps and VW Bugs primarily due to the Wild Willy and Monster Beetle. I began reading Hot VWs and Peterson's 4Wheel and Offroad in addition to RC Car Action as I got closer to 16. Just before I got my license, I had on of those pivotal moments in life and I got hooked on muscle cars and went down that road for the next 10 years. After a slew of Novas, V8 Vegas, El Caminos and even a Duster, I began, in my mid-late 20s, to look for something different. Empty-nester boomers and auction shows were driving up the price of all American iron. I returned to my original desires and got into the world of VWs and Jeeps for some years. I came very close shooting one of my bugs in Sand Scorcher livery, but the recession hit and I had less money to spend on cars. I love the Bugbox Sand Scorcher and Wild Willy (although Willy needs bigger tires).
junkmunki 846 Posted May 1, 2019 Hey Saito2, i love American iron, but being in the UK, most of the good stuff is either restored and expensive, or needs to be imported which bumps the price. I would love an old nova. I've done the cadillac thing, but i have my eye on a '73 Plymouth Scamp with a 302 motor at the moment... Watch this space... berman 5315 Posted May 1, 2019 Any of my tractor trucks (being an ex truck driver) or the Leopard 2a6 would be fun! Alternatively, I want to make a 1/10 of my 1:1 one day soon

JennyMo 3526 Posted May 1, 2019 I've always wanted a full-size 1953 F100, so Ta-Mater is my obvious choice: However, I'd also love to build something like the STUMPkamper too! I might just have to settle for Ozzy's YJ Jeep mind you... ;o) Jx
