Egress steering--help!

The steering system in my Egress is busted.

The two plastic thingies that use ballbearings and you screw onto the steering plate are broken.

I´ve researched in the manuals here at the TC and these two plastic bits come in the "L parts" tree of the Egress.

Does anyone still sell these bits? Are there hopups available so this won't happen again? Does the Avante or Avante 2001 use these same parts.

Any information would be very helpful.

They are very good strong parts. I have a repaired set on my runner. As far as finding them, difficult! I remember seeing a set on Ebay about a month ago. I think the guys id on Ebay was "toyandhobbytrader". Search and send him an email, he might still have them.

I'm pretty sure the Avante 2001 uses the same cranks. Not sure about the original Avante or the Vanquish though.

Hi El Mexican, As you know I run both Avante2001 and Vanquish in my fleet. Here are some pics of their respective steering systems.

The avante2001 parts are the same as the Egress. However, vanquish parts will fit but you lose the bearings. To be honest though, you're not really going to notice because I dare say you aren't racing with this car? just for bashing about? Steering is too **** quick in these anyway so bearings are over the top! Vanquish parts trees are easier and cheaper too.

How on earth you managed to bust these parts I dare not think because as you know I really abuse mine and normally under a high impact crash on the front wheels you either break the front plastic uprights or the aluminium carriers. These will always break first in my experience. I would simply get some vanquish steering parts and use them. They'll be strong enough.

How did I break these parts? I honestly don´t know. i was just running up and down the street and the steering just died on me. When I took of the shell BOTH of these L parts where dangling and broke.

Could be that my Egress is second hand. Maybe the previous owner gave it a real good smack someday?
