What Engine.....!!!!!!!!

HI Lads and Lassies

Just a quicky, If i was to replace the engine in my terra crusher which ones would you recommend, that will fit with out any mods, i dont mind a .15 engine, its works for the new t-maxx. lol[].

unfortunatley i can't see the new tmaxx engine fitting in the TC without some type of modification, the new tmaxx lump is of the rear exhaust configuration and probably has a slide carb to (not sure on that though) wheras the TC is of the side exhaust and barrel carb.

The engine would most probably bolt straight in but you'd have to make some kind of modification to the exhuast and throttle linkage to get it to work.

Also check that the crankshaft output is the same, as these can differ too.

Better bet would be to get a .21 coversion kit and go BIG!!!!

The T-Maxx I saw at my LHS today had a slide type carb and rear exhaust.

From personal experience - i can honestly say that you are far better off going for ANY other motor than a HPI OR TRAXXS "home" branded motor......they are very inconsistent in their reliability to say the least.

These .21 conversions are getting increasingly popular - and if you are after more speed etc - poerhaps this is the way to go.

I can personally recommend "force" (OFNA???? in the US)motors, picco, OS etc etc in the 15 class.........the best would have to be the lower spec "PICCO" engine- very nice indeed (.15 motors that is...).

I work on these things regularly for the local shop - and can honestly say that we get more failed HPI and Traxxas branded engines with terminal failure.......the ratio is scarily high in fact !!

Just my two cents - of course their are going to be stories of "mine was never a problem" - however this is the exception rather than the rule/.........at my shop - in fact country that is !!
