Again, battery's ! Now.. Lipo :) / am i correct ??

Recommended Posts

Yep.. i just do not give up ( but as i lost track, new topic )

managed to sell some models to fund.. new battery's ( in the first place, to get the DJI Phantom 1 back in the air ( both lipo's are nuked, i suspect the charger )

Would , if i buy the following ,  allow me to charge.. yep, the new battery's ..  and , soon(tm)  lipo's for the Tamiya models.

( im still a bit confused about storage mode.. but that is a entire different thing to think about .

https://hobbyking.com/en_us/pd606-charger-eu-plug.html            ( Option A )

What would allow me to also charge from my car  / on a trip..  correct.

( just a bit strange that you have to charge over the balance wires .. it seems.. )

OR ( prefered option, as i do have a decent charger anyway ... ) ...  am i correct.. if i put this one on my charger... ->

https://hobbyking.com/en_us/hobbyking-safe-40a-parallel-charge-board-for-4-packs-2-6s-xt60.html          ( Option B )

I have a "lipo charger" ? ( push the power in, that board does the rest ? )

--------

Used with these lipo's   ( still got to messuren size, but they "look" about the same as my old one's )

https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-battery-nano-tech-2650mah-3s-25-50c-lipo-pack-xt-60.html    ( Option C )

Or this one.. cheaper.. :) and they got them on a bargain or something.. ( UK warehouse, i can live with a few days delivery )

https://hobbyking.com/en_us/zippy-flightmax-2200mah-3s1p-25c.html           ( Option D )

( XT-60 as, thats what the drone takes )

Who would have tough ... lipo's as normal way to power rc cars :)

Ok, more experienced people will follow, but the first charger looks ok to me but no discharge function?

The board wont let a non lipo charger charge lipos, it just lets you charge more than one at a time i believe.

You already have lipos? How are you charging them?

Im a little confused about what you have, what you want, and what you need.

Ah, ok ,  thats clear !

And i have might been a bit confusing .. like usual.

I have a ALC-8500 , ( a shiny charger but it has no balance function ) ,  it says it can charge lipo's but i have not worked out how to balance them

 ( this is the charger )     https://www.elv.de/elv-akku-lade-center-alc-8500-2-expert-inkl-pc-software-chargeprofessional-vierleiter-ri-messkabel-temperaturfuehler-und-usb-kabel-1-6-m.html

There is just no place on it where i can plug in the "balance plug" of the lipo

I do have 2 lipo's , there 3C from the Phantom drone.. however, they are both dead / near dead .. and as they both went out about the same time , i blame the charger

( the charger that came with the drone )    So i kind of want to "bin" that one. ( the oem charger of the drone )

What i need is a budget way to charge the to-buy , new 3C drone Lipo's  , ( preferable a way to do that with the alc-8500 .. but , what has no balance function )

Ok. If you want to balance charge i dont think your charger will. If it has no balance plug socket then there is nowhere to plug the board in.

You need a proper LIPo charger with a balance plug. Anything else is asking for a fire.

Your charger may be able to charge a two cell to 8.4 volts, but if one cell is down 0.6 volts, that means the other cell is now up to 4.8 instead of 4.2. When cells are discharged in the cars, they are NEVER discharged completely evenly.

If you don't want to spend too much on a charger, get this and run it off the cig outlet.

It is much more versatile and capable than the one in your first link. It will charge all types of packs you can find, including LIHV which is getting ever more common.

While it would be nice to find something on this side of the pond, it will still be very hard to beat the price - even if VAT is added.

Out of all the Hobbyking I've ordered to Denmark from their Global warehouse, I've only been hit with VAT once.

And it works !

After checking the old battery's , i have a feeling the old ( original ) phantom charger is not as great.

After some fiddling around, got the pc link working on the new charger ( a bit.. ) .. its.. not really stable... yet ;p
