Been working on some hydro dipping

£20 for 2 cans of activator spray (eBay)

£6 for 50x200cm film (AliExpress)

£2 for a plastic tub (bargain buy)

it’s soooooo easy

gave my grass hopper wheels a coating of primer

cut out some of the film and add a border of masking tape

fill tub with warm water (34 deg C)

lay on film (sticky side down on water) for 45secs

spray activator (wear a mask or you fall off your chair - wahooo)

Then slowly lower in your primed item at 45degC

Then rinse under warm water for a minute

looks awesome and so many patterns available

I now also have a 80s clodbuster on its way to add to the collection - makes my tummy flip thinking about having that in my hands again

I think tamiya put something addictive in the plastics ;)

I’m seeing this as a hobby with items that don’t depreciate too much
