It’s been an expensive weekend

got hold of a tamtech lambo and a GR fighter violet 

all while I’m waiting for my hotshot ;)

im also midway through a 934 RSR Vaillant and my TT02 SR had to go back to modelsport 

it’s gonna be a busy July

I remember working in the shop when they came out. I always thought they would be popular but I couldn't have been more wrong, they sat around for ages unsold. The buggy replicas sold much more easily, probably to collectors of the full-scale ones. Poorly supported in the UK at the time too, I seem to remember the official batteries being really expensive!

Of course what was once unpopular means it is now rare and desirable. I love that Lambo and the Ferrari 288 GTO.

Finished off a few projects in the last few weeks 

Fitted a mechanical speed controller to the falcon (Man thise resistor wires need to be long)

Yeah - it’s lovely 

got lights now fitted now too 

such a great kit 

was a 911 GT2 on a TA-02 SW chassis but with the full vaillant body kit from tamico 
 

well chuffed

How’d the wheelbase go? Did you need to make “adjustments”?

I’ve not mounted the body properly yet as I’m waiting for some magnetic body mounts - but for a few mm im not gonna be worried.

Currently building an MF-01x for a 959 replica

got a Volvo T5-R BTCC estate shell to paint up 

Got an Avante 2011 rere from Santa 

and fingers crossed for a Clod black arriving

took a few hours of experimenting to get things working how the instructions say they should :)

 

Need a few additional LEDs and they are on their way from amazon!

Never posted the results so here is a quick vid 

hard to tell from the vid but 

Front headlights (always on)

Front indicators when turning 

Amber side markers front and rear (always on)

Rear red lights (always on)

Rear red brake lights (get brighter when braking)

White rear reverse lights (on when reversing)

Rear indicators when turning

Ah and finally, I spent the summer collaborating with my old school mate @Xeostar and developed a new 3D printed beetle gearbox brace 

multiple prototypes

That finished paint looks way more redderer than you'd think being translucent pink.  Lovely deep colour, tho :)

Yeah I probably went for 4 coats instead of 3 

and I backed it in silver
