PaulRC10 61 Posted June 24, 2019 Hi everyone. My first post. I have a Vanquish which I’d love to restore as a runner. I’ve stripped it down completely and the only parts broken (unfortunately) are: - Rear section - final two screw holes - of the main chassis tub missing (broken off). - missing rear bumper (for above reason probably) - front bumper is toast - link pins bent - shell and wing broken and cracked I think my only two options are : 1. Rebuild it with out the bumpers (no point IMHO), with TBG body and MCI decals 2. Go Carbon, maybe even go Page 28 upgrade in the manual. 😃. But I don’t have the HiCaps ☹️. Anyone want to give a view on this one? Thanks! Paul.

PaulRC10 61 Posted June 28, 2019 Damage is to the rear, which has snapped off.
graemevw 825 Posted June 28, 2019 Thats a shame, cant immediately think of a decent repair either. Carbon conversion may be the only option, or a long wait for a new/decent tub. Egress parts are all available but means the shocks move back like the egress.
graemevw 825 Posted June 28, 2019 I do have most of the egress bits, just not the plastic bits.
PaulRC10 61 Posted June 28, 2019 I have an original egress chassis, shock towers and shocks coming. I think that’s all I need for the conversion. I couldn’t find any resources on the conversion itself, I don’t think it’s requiring the ‘Avante Chassis set’ from back in the day - at least I hope it doesn’t! PaulRC10 61 Posted June 28, 2019 I guess the problem with the above is that I’ll be turning a Vanquish into an egress. 😭

PaulRC10 61 Posted June 28, 2019 Ok, more involved than I thought. Thanks for the help. I’ll have to sit down and work it out...
graemevw 825 Posted June 29, 2019 Just look at the egress manual, your basically just putting vanquish gearboxes on an egress. Although the gearboxes are also the same, so you end up with an egress with gear diffs and a vanquish body/bumpers. Still, not many good tubs out there. Ive seen one or two new ones go for about £60 or such but not common. So the egress conversion may be its only hope. Either that or make a bracket to extend the tub so you can fit the bumper and put it back together in vanquish spec. Wont be pretty, but would see it as a usable car again. PaulRC10 61 Posted April 15, 2020 Work and life took me away from sorting this. I caved and bought a new tub chassis. I also picked up new front and rear bumpers from trusty Tamico. I managed to get a beat up one on eBay to make a ‘runner’ as I always thought the Vanquish drove brilliantly when I managed to have a go back in the day on a friends one. So, the results of the original one I restored. I put a D2H in it instead of a silver can. Wheels and MSC are from the 2nd one I bought Wing is TBG. Only the Tub and bumpers were purchased, so not too bad a job in the end. At least it’s a Vanquish 😉
