Amazon fire HD picture issues

Home screen pictures for the last week or so display as black squares on my Amazon fire HD tablet?

Thanks for that. Anyone else seeing this issue on this device? I don't have one to test on at the moment. I've not changed any of this code recently either - do you know what version of OS its running and when it last updated?

Fire OS 5.3.6.4 November 2018

There are 2 component updates pending so I'll try updating again now

Updates installed, cache clear, tablet powered off and on

but still the same!😯
