53HRA 555 Posted July 7, 2019 Stumbled across this but it’s left me scratching my head as I have no idea what this could be? The bodyshell appears to be very strong (possibly fibreglass or ABS) and the chassis has distinct features such as the fuel tank being in the bodyshell which I have not seen before! Any ideas what this could be?
KEV THE REV 2304 Posted July 7, 2019 Mardave Lola T294 , MK4 chassis . The fuel tank should be mounted on the chassis . The engine heads heat sink is quite rare though. http://mardavemarauder.weebly.com/18th-mk3-chassis.html
53HRA 555 Posted July 7, 2019 Excellent thank you! Any ideas on value?
KEV THE REV 2304 Posted July 7, 2019 Parts are hard to find , not worth a fortune . If you don't intend to restore it I would put it on eBay as is :)
Dirt-540 65 Posted July 7, 2019 That is quite beautiful, love its simplicity. Is there any compression in the engine?
KEV THE REV 2304 Posted July 7, 2019 The engine is most probably glued stuck with old fuel if it has been left to stand for a long time . the trick is to heat up the head & block whilst stripping it down to rebuild it melts the old fuel , keep warming before it cools and sticks again .Once stripped and cleaned the engine may be good to rebuild , but check for wear on main components and replace if needed. If it isn't going to be run , then just rebuild it with new gaskets and keep it for show and it should now rotate freely
