Shipping costs from Canada to UK

I was looking at buying a 1/14th body shell only from Canada , the body itself is a good price but the shipping is £33GBP via surface mail - not airmail , and should arrive between October and mid December !! . I checked prices from UK to Canada for similar RM small package package and it would cost around £14GBP and arrive in about a week . Have shipping costs from USA / Canada to UK gone up to that extent ?

TBG takes 15$ Standard International Shipping for a lexan hilux shell, maybe ask the seller?

Sounds like a lot of money when you consider the weight as well.

Yes . I think the seller didn't want to ship outside USA so made up a price or just couldn't be bothered to check it out properly . I did email the seller to ask if there was an alternative shipping method / cost , but got no reply . I've seen other similar sized items for sale in the USA with shipping around £15GBP , so it seems to be a made up price to me .
