Recommended Posts

Aaargh so made a start on the suspension but didn’t get far

I have lots of damper internals but they just don’t fit and I don’t have the correct bottoms

I’ve had to order 4 new trees

plus I’ve run out of 3mm collared nuts

this project is a daily grind of ordering £4 bags of parts haha

Tried the falcon with the wheels and shell on - looks good ;)

I got some 1/10 scale wing mirrors delivered and thought I’d go for something different I’ve the standard (don’t shoot me)

Of the 6 various sets, these worked and looked best but the base plate was crap

k9rsSki.jpg

so trimmed them down a bit

and fitted them in the same way the monster beetle ones fit in the same fixing holes that the standard hornet light units would fit.

I’m quite pleased with how they look - thoughts??

Just waiting on some suspension parts and I’ll be done with Falcon #2

All new suspension parts arrived

the internals of these dampers are ever so slightly smaller than those of other yellow dampers :(

bit it’s all good now

Front dampers went on nice and easy into the 3D printed towers

and the rear arms went together well - all new screw pins and brand new dog bones from the USA

Today if finished off Falcon #1

its all been assembly related really as I’d cleaned all the parts right at the beginning.

some of the usual damage to the front end

So here are all 3 together...

Falcon #1 - filthy wrecked chassis in need of cleaning and repair.....now 80% complete with some damage

Falcon #2 - brand new chassis, gearbox, wheels and loads of other bits (about 75% there).....now 100% brand new and mostly with brand new 80s stock

Falcon #3 - rolling chassis in need of a clean up ..... now fully rebuilt with 100% perfect 2nd hand parts
