Adding lights?

Guys,

new to this so be gentle.

i have a vintage Monster beetle and I want to add lights to it for the kids. Also good practice to add lights to future cars I buy.

how do I do it?

i can see the kits on eBay but what do I connect it to? The electric pack on my MB has no free slots?

If there is no slot left on your receiver, you can get a Y-connector. However, you should not need that. 

Receivers from mid-80s on, should have a "BEC" (Battery Elimination Circuit).

Check to see if your receiver says "BEC."  If it does, you don't need 4 AA batteries to power receiver. It uses electricity from ESC.  It's a bit confusing, but ESC wire is a two-way street. ESC gives power to the receiver, at the same time, receiver orders ESC to go forward and backward.   

Most receivers still have a slot for the battery ("B" slot above).  You can use that slot to power LEDs, I think. (other members please correct me, if I'm wrong on this)  There were a few that had only 1 and 2 slots.  If yours is one of those, you have to use a Y-harness.
