yeah you can disconnect it it just means no uncoupling via the mfu.

i unpluged the vibration unit from my mfu as i didnt want to use it 

but you should be able to buy another lead if you want to

Leaving it unplugged will also put it into low power mode permanently, the MFC increases power when a trailer is coupled. As an interim you can remove the switch and join the wires so the MFC thinks the fifth wheel is active.
