okay i had one of these 13 years back. but sold it 2 years later for upgrade.

but a couple of weeks back i brought another one from of evoman.

not in the best of condition but one week later she is up and running again. but i cant remember if it had this steering problem i have on this.

i have noticed its ok when turning to the left but when i turn to the right it dont go all the way it seems to catch the chassis.

now is there any way to correct this or am i stuck with it.

sorry i cant take photos as i dont have a pc at home

and as for the tie rods i dont think they are bent cause i took them form off my original ray and i put it on this one.it looks likeit catchs on the left side of the inside of the bath tub chassis if that makes any sense.

could you explain on what you meen lever please

and sorry but the pic of the manual is to small but i have the manual at home and check it out tonight

Change the size of the manual page from Small (Preview) to Medium (Screen) and at the bottom you should see a diagram showing the servo, the rod connecting the servo to the 'lever' and then a connecting rod that connects to another lever, and the two rods which go from each lever to the from arms. If your setup is the same as the diagram, there shouldn't be any 'catching'. Then I suppose it could be down to non standard parts, or bent/squashed parts maybe...

it won't let me change the size to medium.

and all the steering assembly that i put on was of my old manta ray that was only used for a while cause i changed it all to c/f and brought all new stuff when i did. so it aint bent or anything else and it is all tamiya stuff that is on it and is in vgc.

mind i dont have the propper servo saver on it that is shows in the manual its only a single one and not the one that comes in either 2 or 3 parts that have to be assembled that is showed in the manual.

How much? if it's off my more than a few degrees, try taking the servo horn off the servo, and reattaching it so that it points straight up (assuming your servo has a splined circular end and not a square one). Then adjust the rest of the steering rods to make the wheels point straight forwards again...

no i hav'nt tbh as i have been buisy building my rc drift silvia s15. plus my lunchbox's turned up at my lhs on saturday and i will be putting my time into them. but the only thing i noticed last night when going through the manual was that it says to have zero angle on the front. now i have not checked this yet but i will soon.

i also managed to get a new manta ray body nib so i also have to paint that when i get the chance.man i have some fun nights ahead of me.

Ah yes

i too have a new Manta Ray body (or i will do once i've paid for it!)

I have tried all manner of tweaks to the steering rods, dampers etc and still can't manage to fix. I might soon resort to shaving a little off the chassis (or the rod end) to cure the prob.

erm the new shell was £22.99 from ebay - it comes in the tamiya box with decals etc.

I haven't actually got it yet tho - issues around reaching my paypal transactions limit (i thought it was a $750 limit for a single transaction rather than $750 total transaction limit - DOH!)[:o)]

i have thought of this but i dont know if it will weaken the chassis.

ps how much did you pay for the shell and where from

the lunch box is finished know it took a while but i got there and she know looks fantastic.

and i like the colour on your manta-ray it looks great nice job you've done. when i had mine 11 years back i painted mine the same colour but a darker shade. i will have to find some photos out tonight to have a look.

your ray was'nt that dirty when you brought it.

when i got mine back home i could'nt beelive the amount of dirt and grease all over it. it took me about 4 nights to clean it all off.
