Blitzer Beetle Tires

Recommended Posts

Greetings All,

Just picked up a Blitzer Beetle kit and wanted some recommendations.  I'll run it with a Sport Tuned motor and 2s lipo.  Even though I don't plan on running it very hard (just along paved bike trails), I know the stock tires wear our pretty quickly.  Does anyone have any suggestions for an alternative?

I use Schumacher Vee2 and Stagger Rib tyres on my blitzer wheels, but they are for grass and astro. If you want smooth tyres the eithet Aqroshot tyres or the Schumacher Venom truck tyres (part number u6701). You will need foam inserts for any of the schumacher tyres.

The Dirt Hawgs I are to narrow for the rear.

Version II I am not sure off, but I find the combination works good.

I still have the Stock front tyres on my Stadium Blitzer after lots of running on all sorts of surfaces, but I have Pro-Line Trenchers siliconed on the rears that are lasting and performing very well on and off road.

I also have some Sand Paws in the post for beach duties 😁

The Schumacher’s @ThunderDragonCy suggest’s are probably better for mostly on road though.

I personally run Proline Wedge 2.2 at the back of my Stadium Thunder, medium compound. While it is a directional pattern meant to be used up front it offers enough grip at the back on Astro with a 15T Etronix Sport Tuned on 2S and I find the directional pattern to help prevent with snap over steering.

I still run the original up front as i can't find a 2.2 front tire that is 45mm wide and 102mm outer diameter. I tried the Wedge up front but it is too wide for the original rim (like any 52mm-ish tire) witch cause the sidewalls to be prone to move side to side and squirm more than they should.

Dirt Hawg seem to be a nice option but I doubt the would be any good on Astro so that's ot an option either.

@Re-Bugged you mean they are probably better for mostly OFF-road right ? Any experience with the Stagger Rib ? Do you know its width and outer diam by any chance ?

Thank you very much to all for your input.  I really like the look of the Proline Trenchers and will try out a set on both front and rear.  I'm thinking to get a couple of extra wheel sets and trying others as well.

at the moment i have em all round on the blitzer beetle and the dirt hawg i's are indeed too narrow for the rear. i've been looking at the trenchers, and your suggestion confirms they should be the best replacement.

Another set of wheels is a good idea, I've just done this Trenchers on one set of rears & some Sand Paws have just arrived for a second set even though the Trenchers worked pretty good on the sand.

Just bear in mind though that the Trenchers are a bit more chunky looking than the stock tyres, but its more for function than form for me.

I just fitted some Schumacher Vee4 blue compound tyres to my Stadium thunder. They fit the rims perfectly.
