Sketchup help needed

Ok, hands up, I’ve never used any design software but have been having a look at sketchup to try and modify a template that is on there. So far I’ve only managed to delete sections that shouldn’t be deleted, so it’s not going well!

does anyone have any experience of sketchup? I’ve found a template for a wild dagger chassis that I want to shorten by cutting a section out & then rotate the battery compartment to fit in the shorter chassis.

I could probably do that for you, I use sketchup on a fairly regular basis.
