Carbon fiber bonding

Recommended Posts

Can i bond two pieces of dry carbon fiber together by adding epoxy resin and a piece of carbon fiber cloth? Do i have to heat the dry epoxy, before i do it? Or will this not work? Any other ideas anyone?

Sandpaper the surface a bit and glue it together with 2k epoxy glue. It will last forever.

I made 3mm brakediscs out of 1,5mm fiber sheets. Works like a charme.

If you are looking to do that (which is effectively wet laying) it will need some compression to wet out all the fibres and a hardener to get the epoxy to go off. If there is space it's easier to make a lap joint by bonding another carbon plate over the split usibg the technique mentioned by @Collin
