P.s. I made the arm good with some filler and some sanding as it was v hard to get the correct angle when trimming

angle depending on length and where on the roll bar he held

Yeah chuffed with how it turned out as it’s the first build where I’ve gone for detail and a full on shelf build

I envy this build. I always like the Wild One since the 80s but never had one.

Some day... :)

A few little updates

firstly, priming and painting the cage worked for a while but as the frame flexes (even as a shelf queen just being moved to show people) the paint detaches from the plastic

I started scraping it off to see what I could rescue but it was futile so I “invested” in FAV ones (which are already black)

MBI52xa.jpg

I was going to do this at the start but to get all the bits in black wasn’t cheap :(

Was an easy enough swap tbh

DVjGGCg.jpg

...and I was glad I never got around to glueing his hand to the frame!!

All back together now and looking sooooo much better

I also wanted to add a rear radiator set up to go with my engine

spotted this on AliExpress and not having a clue on how big or small it was I thought I’d take a chance and see

Took about a month to arrive  (along with a mini fire extinguisher which must have cost more for the packaging and shipping than I paid for it)

It comes mostly unassembled but the detail is high with lots of pieces

VHggiul.jpg

luckily the width of the large radiator was the exact width of the rear frame!!!

I screwed through the frame and attached the radiator from the back

and fitted the fire extinguisher with tie wraps.

I think it looks pretty cool

was going to use the supplied piping but decided against it.

Obviously I left the other rad off as that would be the air con rad and we don’t need air con where this car is going ;)

I think this is still one of my fave cars

My GAWD where has this been hiding!!!???? 😲😁😳  That is STUNNING!!  The WO is already my absolute FAVORITE Tamiya Buggy - that I DIDN'T get when it first came out - more BROKE than a Hobo when the Re Re came out...........

And whilst WAITING for my quite SIZEABLE Inheritance (less than 3 weeks away!!), I slowly watched what was left of them sell OUT all over the World. 💔😭😭😭😭😭

SOON I can finally afford one - and it's not slipping away this time....

Even if that means paying $550 - $650.00 USD from one of the SCALPERS who have a couple left in Japan on Evilbay!! 😖  Just some "It Factor" about it that's always gotten to me.

And of COURSE I'll be fitting James' Brilliant Engine from Shapeways!!  ........ May Dye my Cage, Purple. Gotta be different! 😜

don’t forget the wild one and the FAV are the same -

see what one you can get

if it’s just a fav then buy the WO shell

I didn't think of that. Both have the same Suspension? I've seen a few WO Cages and Bodies available.... That could be an option. 😁

Love the Radiator idea!! Will be stealing that one. Axial parts are plentiful here.... I used the Axial EXO Terra Radiator on my Wraith.... spacer.png

spacer.png Maybe, if it's not too big, I can do the same on a Wild One! 😉

Very cool build, like it a lot but my OCD has the better of me and I have to post. You have a water cooling radiator just above the fans for the air cooled engine ............ Again please ignore it is just me being picky, I like it a lot.
