Superluminal 3750 Posted October 19, 2019 Hello - i have just finished the chassis build of a re-re Tamiya Bruiser. Not sure if its just the way its supposed to be and i'm aware the suspension was never its strong point but at the front when both springs are compressed at the same time there is only about max' 5mm of suspension travel before the front universal drive shaft hits the underside of the gearbox. If you compress each side separately (in a roll motion) there is quite a lot of travel. Is this normal? Cant see that ive built anything incorrectly.
Blissard 359 Posted October 19, 2019 That sounds normal, I had the same issue on my original Bruiser and I ended up lifting the transmission few millimeters.
Superluminal 3750 Posted October 19, 2019 Thank you! Didnt think of that. Will see if i can fit some washers under the lugs that connect it to the chassis rails.
87lc2 2666 Posted October 20, 2019 What Blissard said is absolutely correct, just raise up the transmission a bit and you'll get a lot more travel. Still nothing like a modern 4-link crawler, but it's nice to have that little bit of extra room.
