Black edition pumpkin? I don't get it.

Recommended Posts

Please explain is the black edition a special blacker shade of black, or is it just a pumpkin.

I work part time at my LHS, one came in and I'm confused.

I agree. Other than a molded black body, it is the same pumpkin that was in production 30 years ago. Another pointless "edition" from Tamiya.

Ok guys, thanks.

So it's a black shell then... I'd have put money on the original pumpkin having a black shell. Saves on paint for those quick, build it, sticker it days.

Seems pretty ballsy calling it a black edition then. Oh well...Tamiya!😁

I agree... it's basically the same body shell that you get with the Lowride Pumpkin kit - it would have been nice if they at least put black wheels and perhaps some monochrome flame stickers on it too?

Agreed...It wouldn't take much effort from Tamiya's ideas department to really lift these "colour" editions. Some nice graphics and wheels. And maybe even some coloured chassis parts just to make them stand out. If they are charging a premium for them, then CVAs, a Torque tuned and just maybe some bearings would surely get more people on board.

You would at least thought maybe an ‘Orange Edition’ around Halloween.
