From what i heared yes.

But keep in Mind that it has no öow Voltage cut of for Lipos. You will need a Lipo Alarm.

just checked, comes with a low volt cut off

Tamiya has no low voltage cut off for LiPo batteries. As far as I know  the low voltage cut off is for 6.6 V Li-Fe batteries. The cut off is 2.5 V for each cell which is too less for LiPo. It's better to use a LiPo alarm.

Got missed, how are you all painting these bodies? Ie are you following the traditional route: prime, sand, paint, sand, paint etc? Anyone just add decals and clear it? How'd that turn out?

My Servos stop working after 2 Minutes of Running them...

I use the Standard Teu 106 BK Double ESC.

A 2,4 Ghz Modelcraft Receiver.

2 Carson Reflex CS3 Servos and since Today a 7 Cell 8,4 Volt NiMh.

Last Time i had the with the old 7,2 Volt Battery i had the Same Issue.

What should i do?

Do i need an seperate BEC? I do not know what that is....

Do i need other Servos? I have a Bag of MG 996R Servos laying around....

Apparently the Tamiya has an ESC.

So i will try a receiverbattery to get them Servos some juice.

Maybe that will help.

This is an issue I also have with a  7.2 V NiMh battery. After a few minutes of running the steering starts to interrupt.

Please let us know if the receiver battery helps.

 I will let you know.

Also i will post if the GT tuned Motors are any good with the standard ESC that handles up to 2 25T motors....

The brushed Motors are a bit of a mystery:

New Sport Tuned 23T is maybe timed and with its 23T is to hot for the standard ESC.

The Super Stock BZ would be adjustable in timing but is to hot wit its 23T.

The GT Tuned has adjustable Timing, 25T AND theoreticly better specs than the Spot Tined. More tourque and more rpm....

But YT Vidros and Fourumposts say that the Sport Tuned is faster than the GT Tuned.

I've read about the timing issues which could happen when running dual motors and one is reversed.  However, I have a stock Bullhead w/ TEU-106BK ESC and Sport Tuned motors with no issues.  Since everything is stock, on 2s it's fast enough as the crazy steering makes it a challenge to keep in a straight line.

What Sport Tuned Motors do you use?

Old: Black Cans - An old Legend says there are 2 Versions. 23T without Timing and 27T with timing.

New: Silver Can - the Box says it it 23T but if its timed or not isn't mentioned.

A lots of People in the Internet claim that tey are using Sport tuned. So they are either lucky to get the mysterious 23T Black Can or they arevhaving issues without noticing them.

Have you tested if your front and back is running in the same Speed @Killajb

I'm using the "old" black can ones.  I haven't noticed any difference in speed from front to rear, no apparent rocking or any tendency to swap ends due to one set of wheels fighting the other.  In fact, it seems fine really.  I measured motor temps after a full pack and there's no difference at all.

I started that thread for exactly this reason, I’ve got “new” black sport tuned motors in mine that look like they have timing based on @Juggular‘s pics. The small testing I’ve done in my workshop doesn’t seem to be an issue as described by other posters towards the end of the thread

What testing did you do?

I'm very confused :D

i run Super Stocks in my Wild Dagger set to zero timing.....   But now i think i have to get an rpm meter to calibrate the Motors.....

In my Clod i will install GT Tuned Motors set to zero Timing.

But my prefered choice would be the Sport Tuned.

I love them, they are quick, have tourque and are much cheaper than the others.

Only that timing issue bothers me....

Drove it around . I think I'm going to change them out for some of the AliExpress versions that I have coming. I'm not bothered by the performance, I want the black motors in there only for the looks

Practically speaking, the rear is pushing 10% faster isn't all that noticeable on dirt.  You'd see it spinning out easier on ice.  But 99% of the times, we don't drive on ice.  It won't make too much of a difference.

To me, though, the Wild Dagger has the least favorite running characteristic.  I feels "unbalanced."  It drives differently from regular one-motor 4x4.  I suspected that it was the small speed difference in the silver cans.

It feels like it's running on stilts.  That probably makes no sense...  If the front axle resists the pushing by the rear, it would have this unbalanced characteristic.  For example, Wild Dagger feels like it hesitates to jump (just a bit).  It's not just the weight of the extra motor.  Instead of a clean take off, the front and rear fights with each other.  2WDs don't have that, because front wheels don't resist.  Regular 4WDs don't have that (except, when turning).  I like my 2WD Blackfoot(s/feet). Even massive Juggernaut and Terra Crusher have cleaner propulsion.  Only Wild Dagger has this awkward gait, which I hope could be fixed by using matched motors (one of dozens of to-do projects...)

But it's a small thing that you'd have to pay attention to notice.  A cheap tachometer could be used to match motors.  If not, that's fine too, you can't tell much on dirt anyway!

Very well put. The only twin motor, separated drivetrain vehicle I've not experienced what you're describing in is the Clod Buster (and possibly the old USA-1). I don't know if its the sheer size of it or what but it doesn't seem as affected. The Wild Dagger/WR01 and even the old Kyosho Double Dare seem to have this slightly unbalanced characteristic of which you speak. It could be the overall vehicle mass and/or tire size damps out this quirk.

I am still convinced it's because the clodbuster pushes the earth backwards, which gives you the impression it's moving forward.

Nothing else has the power to do that.

The Receiver Battery helped in my Case.

I also changed the Carson Servos to MG 996 Servos.

I'm running my Black Edition has supplied by Tamiya as far as the electrics are concerned. I get about 20 minutes of run time with a 5000mah 7.2 Nimh on the grass of our back yard.

No issues with the steering etc.

Actually I've done the CPE 4 link and added (8) Hicaps. Zero issues.  I did add a larger servo horn in the servo to get better leverage on the front tires and locked out the stock servo savers. If anything adds more stress to the system, again zero issues.

You might have a bad receiver or servo.

So I’ve got a bit obsessed with this Super Clodbuster Black Edition. A bit too late as they are all gone! Unless I pay double the retail or £££ shipping.

as a special edition is it a limited run or will there be a 2nd batch in October? I noticed the date on Tamiya USA, which gives me hope!
