Re-Bugged 10155 Posted June 17, 2020 With fairly dismal RC stocks around at the moment I pulled out a Motorcycle kit from the bottom of the cupboard to keep myself entertained for a bit. It's age as a kit became apparent when trying to apply the decals as they seemed to disintegrate out the water if manipulated for to long. Anyway all done now
markbt73 5316 Posted August 24, 2020 Couple of builds from early in the lockdown... 1/25 AMT Edsel Pacer, and 1/24 Monogram '32 Ford. Not really my favorite subjects, but good build practice.
SupaGaz 51 Posted December 1, 2020 This is the ship I built for my dad. HMS Arethusa. His favourite ship on which he served in the RN. Scratch built and calling on all my experience, and sometimes driving me insane. It took me 2 1/2 years. Thanks for looking. Gaz.
Re-Bugged 10155 Posted December 1, 2020 That is a stunning piece of work @SupaGaz, your Dad must have be en over the moon when he saw it 👍🏻 My Nephew signed up with the RN recently for the Submarine’s, and to study for Marine Engineering. I didn’t even know he was into anything like that. It’s been a bit of a blow with Covid hampering things at times, but it’s working well for him and he is enjoying it. SupaGaz 51 Posted December 2, 2020 Thank you. Unfortunately my dad passed away 18 months after I gave him the ship. Not before corrrecting me on a few things in the mean time though 😂 If my dads stories were anything to go by, I’m sure you’re nephew will have a fantastic experience👍 Gaz.

Fabia130vRS 2098 Posted March 27, 2021 Found my bburago 1/24 1999 Renault Megan Schlesser Dakar Car today. Gave it a good clean, it was missing the front tires m, but interesting enough... this scale model has not 1, but 3 spare front tires in the rear. That was really interesting to find. So its rolling again..
Fabia130vRS 2098 Posted March 29, 2021 To apart this burago gem from Italy. A 1:43 Suzuki Vitara from the 90s. Not sure if I like the fainted white color. Sanded it clean with 2000 gradation water sandpaper. now thinking of sanding the color down, completely and maybe polish it? Not sure yet... I also have a burago Testarossa Ferrari Made in italy. Quite different to a new burago Ferrari model... its a fantastic sistem the old buragos have. edit: sanded the Viatra and am trying to make it rust.

Willy iine 18806 Posted August 18, 2021 @alvinlwh Nice masterful work. Quite a collection you got there too..!! I use to make static models in my youth.. honestly these days with age, I cannot see very well and was quite a challenge to paint and assemble those two egg planes. I have to tell you guys a funny story behind that F4’s rear landing gear. I was cementing the wheel to one of the gear posts and the wheel slipped out of my fingers and landed INSIDE my Tamiya cement bottle! I was like oh noes, I only have a few seconds before the cement dissolves my entire wheel!!! and pulled it out with my tweezers in panic. I’ve knocked paint over, accidentally stepped on a tube of paint that was on the floor, etc, etc, but never had this happen in the over 4 decades building things. LOL.

I’ve never had this happen in the over 4 decades building things. LOL. Thanks. I will hardly consider myself a "master". My first model was a Tamiya 1/700 destroyer, that was what got me into model making. Phones, Playstations, Xboxes, etc all never took me away for long, I always returned to model making. The only thing that stopped me is when I moved to UK 20 years ago. Staying in temporary university accommodations means it is impossible to build anything as, you will know, static models fall apart if it does not like the way you look at it. So when moving around, I did not build any. I only got into RCing 12 years ago, when I had a bit of time in between jobs getting a Lunchbox which I cannot afford in my youth and a TT-01. Then with this lockdown "working" from home, it is great for me. I literally turned into a model building factory, turning over about 1 kit a week, to the point that I got bored of the usual planes/tanks/ships that I explored these "chibi" (eggs, etc) models and then Gundams, starting with the SD (chibi) range before moving on ot the "proper" ones. It was during a recent (few months back) outing to a park when I realised I could use my RC cars to keep my hyperactive 2 year old moving without needing to move myself. That is when I took my 2 old cars out, repaired them. They were pretty smashed up by a friend whom I stored them with when moving house, he thought it will be funny to drive them into a wall at full speed, and I never bothered to repair them for a decade until this year. I also ordered a few more new cars, just finished a M-05Ra and in the process of building a SW-01 and SU-01. I believe you can get metal or resin wheels for these planes, along with resin cockpits, but for their starting cost and details, I don't think it is worth it. TBH, with static models, I am more of a OOB kind of guy, only very occasionally getting AM decals. However with RCing, I try to get all the hop ups I can . . 2

Actually that's how I distract from my poor modeling skills! Use some plants/mud/dirt/crap to cover up my mistakes! 😁 I almost NEVER use putty or sand between coats, couldn't be bothered.
