IIRC, Amazon deals with all part of the import process, including prepaying (or postpaying?) any tax due. There will be no action on Amazon parcels by UKBA at all. I had seen something on Amazon stating that last year but can't find it now.

They do say that if they think there will be duty to pay they will estimate at checkout and you pre pay. VAT was charged but even with that the kit was £137 so about £70 under what’s available anywhere else!!

I decided it was time to give the shed a spring clean. It tends to get used as a dumping ground in the winter. Was looking through a drawer that had been blocked by a a load of 💩 and look what I found!!!4EFF9D97-E2C9-439C-811A-A4C749B611B7.jpg BAB74F25-4383-4055-B8F9-3EFD7C30E732.jpg

Cant remember what makes but the Beatnick Bandit was Revell, the rest were AMT I think. I love the Monkee mobile. The yellow one had something to do with ice ( edit Iced T I think)and the orange one is a gasser of some sort

finished this at last. Has taken ages. The box art is blue with white stripes but I prefer this slightly tougher look. Colour is Colorado Red which is the true 2010 colour. The stripes are hand cut. Some need redoing, as does the windscreen. I have ordered a replacement from Revell.

Now I can restart the Africa twin followed by a 1/12th Italeri Lancia Delta Integrale  and a Tamiya 1/12th Datsun 240z rally. No pressure!!!

E2EA1A66-2EAC-4FB9-9822-24CF03234635.jpg This has been sitting a box 9/10 finished for ages. Have been trying to get my modelling mojo back so finished it up. Currently it’s a bit shiny as it has a gloss coat on so the decals don’t stand out from the surface. Once the weathered look has been applied it will be either Matt or satin coated

This one is from a game called 'Elite Dangerous' - an all singing, all dancing update of the original 1984 game 'Elite'. The Cobra MKIII in cardboard.

Need a bit of an rc break. So back to my roots. Dug this part build out of its box and did a few bits. 2DD732B5-727F-4676-A493-BC7B16B48866.jpgI have some big car projects to do so will probably start on the 240Z 1/12 Tamiya once the Escort is done. Also have a few 1/35 military stuff to fill in the gaps!!!

As mentioned above I’m doing a bit of static modelling for a while. Need a break from rc building( still going to run them) so as well as the Cossie I’ve dug out my 1976 re-issue 240Z Safari Rally 1/12 model.    A8A578A3-50BD-4404-82B0-139AFFF43D2A.jpg
88A648FC-6E83-4626-A29F-593803ABB06B.jpgIt’s a bit scary to be honest doing something so old and collectible but it’s a model and models are meant to be built!!!! Also as it was a Japanese import the instructions are all in Japanese. I’ve managed to find a set of English instructions for the road car but not the rally version. Most of what I need is in the road instructions. One thing I can’t find is what the Japanese text next to a colour icon means. All the others have the X, XF codes as well. Is it possibly body colour? Any translators around

The Escort is done, photos to follow but whilst I’m waiting for a few things I need to start the Datsun I started my 1/24 Lotus 7 to Caterham 7 race care conversion. Picked up a Transkit at IPMS show. Friend of mine and I are doing a bit of a build off. He’s doing his car I’m doing an imaginary race car. 104B9FA1-D0EB-4E65-91B0-E5DD9007EB89.jpg

Just finished the chassis of an Opel Astra V8 Coupe.

IPLYwgB.jpg

Lots of old thin decals that breaks apart easily. Need really hot water to free them from the backing paper.

At the moment, having fun with decals that need almost boiling water to free. Damaged a few which is fun trying to piece them together.

0FA1815A-9B61-4C16-92AB-634CB14C465B.jpg a few years back. It’s very faded now and a lot of the decals are peeling. Never got round to clear coating back then. I think it’s one of my favourite 1/24 cars!!
