Have 2 Spitfires, a Mk1 and a Mk24 (IIRC) ROCAF, 2 Beaufighters, no Hurricane or Typhoon yet. As you may remember, I was at Hendon recently and saw a 32 (!) scale Lancaster. Will love to build that, but will have nowhere to put it.

I know what you mean about large scale stuff. Even my 1/48 A10 takes up one complete shelf of a display cabinet. When I see some of the 1/32nd stuff it’s huge especially the bombers.

i enjoy fixing old toys, this battery operated popcorn machines main gear is bent and the cart handle is broke.

Remember Easter Island on Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer, since i can remember i've always fixed (or tried real hard) things. any old toy to me is worth salvaging when possible

found this under a house 30+years ago on a re-pipe job all four plastic wheels are intact, front axle is deteriorated but wheels still roll

Taken during clean-up day many springs ago. Lot's of time spent building these over 20+ years!

Most of them are 1/24 from Tamiya, Fujimi and Hasegawa, with some 1/24 muscle cars from Revell. A few 1/20 F1.

After resisting for a very long time, I finally buckled and expanded to 1/25 to cover muscle cars otherwise unavailable in 1/24.

Your figures painting is amazing!

Thank you sir! The experience comes from painting boardgame mini-figuress and tiny 1/250 (~17mm long!) Formula D cars:

Hey, so I have started collecting Hachette magazines, they provide 100 magazines with car parts.

so when I buy all 100 magazines this year. I will be able to put together a 1/8 Zastava 750 (basically a fiat 500).

I was surprised by the size… 1/8 scale… will weight about 5kg and cost… the most amazing part for me… about 950€

It had been calculated that buying the finished product actually costs less than buying magazines to get the "free" parts. However, if the magazines do interest you, it will be a different story.

I am at this point not interested to buy such a model.

I like the 1:8 scale, would be a first timer for me.

but at this moment, I am tinkering of buying all the parts and then eventually sell for a slightly higher price as a lot.

but on the other hand I might build it.

I am still researching the brand Hachette, they are as I understand a french company.

I cant find any build sets, only this magazines and parts. Every car is supposed to be high quality and licensed.

can somebody point me out here… how many models did they make? What was the first one…

should I maybe open another topic for Hachette or is there a forum?

So I have drifted away from rc a little, although still have all my gear, and have found a new time sink in the form of scratch building stuff from cardboard. So far I've done the 2nd death star from return of the jedi (completed) and an imperial star destroyer (almost completed) I've added lights/fibre optics etc and between them account for many, many hours of faffing. They will reside in my oldest son's bedroom...

2nd Death Star...

And Imperial star destroyer...

I was inspired by some French guy on YouTube who did a death star and thought I'd give it a go. Star destroyer was a completely 'original' build from measuring blue prints off my phone 🤣. Not overly precise when 1 mm off = 1cm off scaled up. Gonna have a break for a while as DIY is calling, but was thinking of doing either the terminator skull or the millennium falcon. Cheers.

My Shelby 500GT has moved on a bit. I never seem to do anything box art so have gone with red with black accents rather than  blue with white. It means all the stripes are going to be painted rather than decals. There are 2 small 500GT logos just behind the front wheel arch that may just become a black stripe. Anyhow here are a few random pictures

Put it away for a while until the weather gets better. It’s too cold and damp in the shed even with the woodburner on. It gets the heat up but it takes ages to change the humidity. It’ll sit with its brothers til spring.

More of a scratch build this one. My MIL who is a bit of a prolific artist is having an exhibition and has asked all the family to put in a 3D piece. I would rather put in an RC as they are blank canvases to me but not really fitting to the theme unfortunately.

So I’ve tried to represent my life a bit transitioning from a time served Carpenter to Truck Driver by using some Chippy tools and bits and pieces laying around to make this…

Thankfully it’s had the nod of approval from the boss. Job done 😁

This arrived today for the stash. D7BAC99F-581F-45A9-8D1A-8228E3426BC4.jpg
got it from Amazon EU for under £140 inc vat. 5 days from Italy unmolested by customs, not even a customs declaration on it. Came from Italy. Free shipping as well. I reckon £70 cheaper than anywhere else that I could find 🥳
