Pete, Nice buy. Tyres & rims look to be correct for a CS. Diplo's on the front and no 76's on the rears. I think the width on the rears is 45mm?? Good luck with the resto......

Hihihihi

Drop Rob Smith an email, (TC member - Purple Rob), I seem to remember that he had some Countach parts to sell/trade a short while ago...he might be able to help you out with a shell and wheels etc.

He's a good guy to deal with.............worth a try.

Good luck

Thats a perfect CS Countach.

There are only the steering rod missing on the Chassis, besides of that it is in perfect shape. The front bumper will be the worst part to get!!!

The tires are original and perfect. The diplos are very nice!!!

If you want to restore the car, remove the red rear lights from the body, then throw it away. When you buy the rerelease body (Ebay) put the red rear lights on it and you have a perfect CS Countach.

Very nice find!! If you are after a reasonable body for it look up Motocrosser (member on TC)- he sent me pics recently but I managed to get a re-release so didn't buy it.

Standard CS rims and tyres.

Bargain!!

Why throw it away? Am sure some people could need it and make a great body of it, or he could use it for running, its a shame to throw anything away that survived 25+ years and someone could possibly need/use later.

Looks to me to be a well used but very original CS Countach. Correct wheels and tires and shell. The re-release shell is identical fo the original and would complete that resto with relative ease.

Nice find! good luck.

Hi,thanks a lot for the replies guys,if i get a re-realise body i might replace the lights with the red ones from this old countach shell, would they fit straight in?

Also whats the best method of getting the lights of without breaking them in half etc?

Instead of cathc pins how does the re-realise body fasten on?

Cheers,

Pete.

the re-release countach shell is exactly the same as the original in every way. However the rear tail lights on the rerelease are clear and need to be painted red. What most dont realize is the original red tail lights from 1978 were PAINTED red not molded red. So dont go nuts trying to preserve the red tail lights when you can use the new ones and use the clear red paint from tamiya for the same end result.

I proved this when striping an original shell and the tail lights came out clear. Suprise!
