And this is My TT02-S build

Recommended Posts

I'll wait and see what happens when I get the wheels. I decided against greater offset in the end just going for a 31mm rear tire/wheel combo so it maybe that I revert. Also I might order the YR adjustable mount that allows 1-3 degrees. All trial and error which is part of the fun:D

Just ordered YR mount. Only £16 inc slow postage so cheaper than buying a full mount set and only using the front one. Gives me 1-5 degrees to play with.

Finished installing electrics. Not my best soldering job though it got better  once I realised I'd turned the temp dial the wrong way:angry: Wiring is just bundled up for shakedown trials. Wheels not glued either. Took it out for a quick run on the road, boy is it quick!!!! I seem to have the same problem @Jonnythefox87 had with his lunch box. The motor clicks quite loudly if you turn it over by hand and at low revs. Once it gets going the noise goes. Its def not the gears, mind you it helps when you install the diffs you ensure that they are the right way round. Initially produced a Homage to Dr Doolittle:DIMG_1755.JPG.8c58e2cef9acd159e2509b1b6fbd0faa.JPGIMG_1756.JPG.0704dba202584d1be7bd62d453e5f126.JPGIMG_1757.JPG.831368f209c60a8d0fab4f8d7ff019a3.JPG

Bought some paint today. Trying a different brand as DMS racing stock it and I can pick it up rather than paying courier charges. Brand is Core RC color.

Quoting myself only £4.99 for 150ml as opposed to Tamiya PS at £4.99-£6.99 for 100ml.

Did a bit of fiddling with magnetic mounts. Typical the bonnet(hood) ones sit across a bulge!!! Not a final fix as I have to redress the wheel base having taken the toe in out. Also waiting for adjustable toe mount to put a bit back. Everything is a bit slow from China/Hong Kong at the moment. Also I'm hoping to set it up so I can swap to the Camaro body I have. Also have a set of wheels with 31mm rears on an even slower boat from China than the rest. So will get body painted up and Stickered once the MCI stuff arrives from Canada:angry:IMG_1758.JPG.cb5a29cf895191b0c4d8468b4bd3d36c.JPG

Getting closer to the end. The adjustable toe angle bracket arrived. I had prempted the fact that the wheelbase would be out so had ordered a set of spacers. Only needed two. With 0 toe the wheelbase is spot on 257mm. If I deceide to alter the toe its easy enough to add/take away spacers to rest the wheelbase. The part which is YR is only listed as drift part but works ok on any TT02. Gives you up to 5 degrees toe.

Also sorted out the body mounts. For the racing truck ive had to accept mounting posts at the rear as to get the low stance I want the truck bed sits almost on the shock tower, so theres no room for magnets. I have a possible plan to solve this but its fine for the moment. Can always cover up the holes with a sponsor sticker or two!! Stance looks just about right

For the Camero I found the extensions from the TT02 kit and these pushed the body posts back just enough to miss the rear window

The front set seem just about right at the same height as the truck. The overall effect is pretty good. I think the wheels could fill the arches a little better width wise. May look at hex extenders. Cant use bigger hex as not enough axle length. Its on magnets front and rear. All I have to do to change bodies is change the rear mounts over. Takes about 3 minutes;)

Both will look better painted etc.

The decals for the truck arrived today, unfortunately Nat from MCI forgot to put some extras in that I ordered.I needed an extra small 8 as the truck roof is smaller than a sedan body/, also wanted an extra Bud and King of beers for the rear deck. I contacted him and he's onto it straightaway:D

That looks like a nice convenient way of altering rear toe, and appears quite sturdy too. I'd be interested to see how it holds up to use.

It looks and feels as strong as the original. You also dont have to use the rear bumper so its lighter. I'm not a racer so dont know how it would hold up against the steel TT02-S 3 degree one if used in anger!!

Storm Dennis has put an end to any driving today but actually its quite warm so the shed with the old paraffin stove was toasty. Have used the Core RC paint on two bodies so far, the Bowler and the Nascar truck and I'm impressed. Cheaper and a bigger can to boot than Mr T and good coverage, certainly for a block colour. Backed them with Black to be sure. Rain means its a stickering day so got to work on the BUD truck. Really pleased with the way its come out. Its almost exactly as I imagined it.Just waiting for two more stickers from Nat of MCI, another big Bud and a King of Beers for the rear deck. I thought I was going to need another  small 8 for the roof but as it turned out the big one just fitted;)

Cant wait to run it.

Not bad for a £15 Fleabay body. The stickers that come with the body are really good quality. The only slight issue is that the front lights are clear so I should have painted the shell silver and orange in appropriate places. Hey ho might just mask it up and paint over the sticker? It also comes with wing mirrors, wipers and a rear wing. I would love a 1:1 of these. Not very practical but would look cool.

Nearing the end. The plan was to do two bodies that could be interchanged using magnetic mounts. Alas I picked two very different styles and I couldnt quite get it to work. The front mounts work for both but the truck currently uses posts at the rear but the Camaro is a different set of mounts but magnetic. Only takes a minute or two to convert from one to the other.

So as above the truck:

Then the Camaro:

IMHO the 69 Camaro is the best ever American Muscle car. Others are nice but this is the Dogs bits!!!!!!

And Both:

Then just to show how adaptable the TT02 Chassis is this is the Bowler Wildcat on a TT02-T Chassis

Got a bit of wotk to do on this body. Wanted a Matt finish but sprayed when it was to cold and the matt coat has misted:angry:

I've been studying your build and based my

tt-02 off of the parts in your build. I used the

same hobbywing 10bl120 and blue can motor.

For some reason forward and reverse are

flopped and even when I take out the sensor

cable and flip the phases it still runs ccw.
