Mantaray ball diff ..how to ?

Does anyone have instruction manual of Mantaray ball diff please?

I have just replaced the ball bearings and I would like to know the ideal tightness of locking it...I'm preparing my Mini Cooper on the up coming 2005 Tamiya Championship.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

have no manual but there's no regulation with this diff. Just tight the kingpin screw. Take only care about round washers.

As a general rule of thumb, stick a couple of flat blade screwdrivers or scalpels in the outdrives then try to turn the main diff gear while holding the outdrives still. It should take a lot of effort to turn this gear, if it spins freely you need to tighten the diff more. Don't tighten the diff right up and then slacken back, you'll crush the balls and plates.

have a look at the top force manual in the home page to check on set up of the balldiff,thats all i did when i put one in my mo3

Hi,

I forgot to write that you must not overthight the kingpin screw. You can also use the wing metal stay used by Asute, Egress or Top Force to check you diff. It's easier than two screw drivers I think.
