It is only day 1 of the fair. Do they typically leave anything on the table to release later in the week?

Personally I am excited for the Miata as I don't yet have an M06 same for the 911 (no TA03), R5 and CLK for the bodysets even though I already have one of each boxed. New touring truck is good, I'll have to bring mine to the track one if these days and see if others start to turn up in time.

Can't really tell from the pics if that is a sticker or part of the box design.  One would hope that this is only a special case for the initial release.

I also hadn't twigged that it's a GF-01.  (I read it but it didn't register in my brain).  Good to see they have stayed true to the Avante design - but does that mean we now need different race classes..?  :D

No it's a trade (only) fair, not a public event. It's always held in January, first show of the year around the world. Attendees go there to hobnob with colleagues and meet-n-greet all their industry peers, plan orders for the year etc. typically pretty much everything is booked in by April/May then production starts, stock gets shipped out Sept/Oct in time for leadup to Xmas toy shopping frenzy.

Toy trade is both exciting and boringly monotonous. :)

RC & plastic models are only a tiny part of the show. Everything else that's marketed to kids & family entertainment is at the show too... it's huge. I'm told the floor space of the arena is at least 20 football pitches in area.

Where would you find such big wide empty space in Germany?

uhh yeah... ever remember seeing historical photos of Adolf & his party gatherings??

Yep, same Nuremberg!

with CCVT gearbox? :)

No please!  A friend of mine has specialized on the RV-chassis and the CCVT and is actually the only person I know about that is capable of repairing and rebuilding the CCVT without destroying it. And I know a lot of people who can't! :P I've never been a fan of the RV-series though, although the novelty of the CCVT and most other niche products Kyosho have made are something I appreciate a lot.

As for 4Runner, the teaser video indicated a 1st gen 4Runner and not a 2nd gen like the old RV-model. As the 1st gen had a live front axle the two first model years (before going for IFS), I thought Kyosho had come up with a new 1/10'ish front/rear live axle chassis.

Theres also a Jimny Sierra body, wonder if it's shorter wheelbase.

i think it ideally should consider how much smaller the 1:1 Jimny is, but it doesn't seem so. Judging by the body sizes, the 4Runner and Jimny are instead in two completely different scales.

The MudMad is a bit Disappointing for me. Looks ugly and Tamiya really could work on some new off road tires for M-size rims to suit the SW-01 chassis.

The Avante is cool and those new tires are awsome.

The Volvo 8x4 truck is a work of art as usual.

The Volvo A60H looks way better than I tought. Maybe the best looking truck on G6-01 chassis.

The Kyosho Mini-Z trucks are cool but Kyosho could really work on a chassis that suits standard size servo, ESC and 380 motor as is in the SW-01 chassis.

Despite that the SW-01 chassis is a bit silly and wobbly the possibility to put standard size electronics in it is a BIB BIG +.

I can't imagine how could Tamiya do such un ugly body for the MudMad, it would even be better if only the front grill would cover the front of the chassis. And those wheels are terrible. A lot of owner uses the racing truck wheels. They look way cooler than the original...

Update:

According to kyosho.com

4Runner: 110mm wheelbase, 1/24 scale

Jimny: 120mm wheelbase, 1/18 scale

(Same chassis, of course)

I really don`t know what to think about this MudMad. If I saw it out of context I would never think it was made by Tamiya. A real dissapointment for me.

It looks like this is a new trend with Tamiya, the G6-01 schoolbus came with one, the SW01 Lunchbox, the GF01cb Avante and the new G6-01 dumptruck.

Wow! Mini-z JB74 is so cool, but it's listed as $250. Also the transmitter is pictured without antenna, maybe it's bluetooth or infrared.

That Comical Avanti has caught my interest. Can't imagine when or where I might run it, but it looks great.

The Terra Scorcher is nice, but I still want, no.... need, a Boomerang.  So I'll pass.

The Karmann Ghia is stunning. Want one, just to sit it on the shelf and look at it.

Exactly! This opens up all sorts of new options for retro looking buggies where you want a big chunky tyre side wall.

Are the comical wheels a standard size? Also are they standard 12mm hex fixed or is there a special adaptor plate?

The 2wd comicals are 12mm hex and the same wheel front and rear. I can only assume that the gf01cb will use the same wheels.

The king yellow standard kit was not pre-painted, hopefully this is just for initial release (cc-02 Merc also comes in pre-painted as well)

Kinda digging that Avante. It's the best-looking of the Comicals since the Grasshopper, I think. And honestly, sometimes, I'd rather have a pre-painted body, especially Lexan ones.

I would love to be able to get pre painted with vintage decals, LOVE a build, hate the bodies....

The Porsche is cool, the rest are of no interest to me.  Too much toy looking stuff for my tastes.

Why Tamiya refuses use wide wheel hexes  to fill out these arches..
