rjoseph244510 14 Posted January 27, 2020 Hi guys Is it possible to paint/spray/dye the yellow shocks you get on the Manta Ray to black? If so, what would you suggest is the best method? Any help would be fully appreciated Best regards Rod
Novamadcars 230 Posted January 27, 2020 All I can say if you was going to spray them you will need to use primer for plastic and paint for plastic. Is there not a tamiya buggy with the same shocks but in black?
waterbok 1282 Posted January 27, 2020 Yes it works, I did it in two stages, first RIT dye dark green then black. Carefull doesn't work on the shocks that are on the XB Manta Ray those are different plastic.
waterbok 1282 Posted January 27, 2020 That's before the black. Dye not catching on the XB ones.

Unfortunately, I'm be no means an expert so I wouldn't have a clue is there is another buggy out there with the same shock in black. If anyone does then any help would be fully appreciated. Problemchild 2149 Posted February 13, 2020 Start with the dye as it’s only £3 if it doesn’t work then you’ve only lost £3 10 x that cost for new ones And less fun JJ
Problemchild 2149 Posted February 18, 2020 Having just tried this I can confirm it didn’t work for me and I just ended up with 4 x bent and buckled wheels JJ
wolfdogstinkus 1876 Posted February 18, 2020 Blitzer beetle has long and short black CVA's. Not sure on size though. And Don't have one to measure but maybe worth checking the manual?. https://www.ebay.com/itm/133196161170
