Yes, I also have one of these monstrosities. Mentioned it in my post but deleted it out before submitting.

Glad another 'proper' scale enthusiast has one also. Although I suspect there are other 1/5th owners lurking in the closet.

I also failed to mention my son and I also have a 1/8th scale Xray XB8E each...

I have those vertical rails in my studio too.  Been using them for years, they're great.  Still haven't decided whether to put the shelves back or not, though...

And, interesting tho racing teapots are, I'm not sure the question has been entirely answered...

@Mad Ax

Most of mine are shelf ware

I only have a v small shed that is 6ft x 10ft (huge jealously to you guys who have storage bigger than my whole house) and space at a premium as a workshop and as a display area.

i bought these wall hangers off a guy on TC and they have really helped maximise the space that I have to display.

@Problemchild thanks for sharing.  Those clips might be 3D printed, I guess I could make something like that.

My walls are plywood and I have plenty of twin-rail racking.  I could hang my cars upright off that.  It's very quick and easy to switch a display around and make space for music equipment on my walls if I needed to - I just need to make a decision and go for it.

My other problem is that the studio is seriously dusty, and anything on display gets caked in no time.  I think I need to work up some kind of solution because we've had 3 laptop failures in the last few weeks that might be due to dust ingress...

or box the shelves in with Perspex

I was planning on going down this route on the day I took my shelves down.  Having had the shelves down and seen how much more airy the studio feels without them, is what prompted this thread :)

There's no floor space for glass shelving units :(

How about shrink wrapping them all ;)

maybe you just need better ventilation

if it’s going all over the cars and laptops just think what’s going on in your lungs?

The studio space is a wooden structure built inside a brick workshop.  A lot of the dust might get in from the workshop - there's Tamiya spray paint, wood dust, dust from the concrete floor, and the wife's cigarette smoke.

The rest of the dust probably comes from the walls, which I carpeted with cheap ribbed carpet to help soak up sound from the speakers.  I expect that carpet puts out a fair bit of dust.  Behind the carpet is plywood walls, behind that insulation matting, behind that is a single layer of blocks before the outside world.  (On the interior walls it's two layers of ply filled with insulation matting).

Ventilation-wise, my electric bill has gone up by around £80 per month over the winter as I have to run a 2000W oil-filled radiator to be able to work in there.  In fact I'm not 100% sure the fuel money I save from commuting to the office every day is enough to offset the cost of heating.  Even with all that insulation, it still gets cold overnight.  So unless global warming actually starts to mean warming in the West Wilts region, ventilation isn't really going to happen in the winter months :(

Sorry, I sound like I'm trying to trample on all your good suggestions, honestly I'm not doing it on purpose :p  :D
