Andyfish2000 104 Posted January 28, 2020 The driver that came with the pre painted tyrrell P34 body is lexan and not life like so I want to repaint the outside adding some shading, highlights etc. Car will be shelf queen, so wondered if a simple airbrush primer then acrylic paints would do the job. Would happily finish with a Matt varnish if it helped it stay on. Any thoughts please? Thanks
WillyChang 1814 Posted January 28, 2020 don't bother with primer... just paint PS1 White or PS12 Silver then paint anything you want on top of that. Nothing keys into lexan better than PS. Acrylics will tolerate mild handling but clearcoat will help durability.
KEV THE REV 2319 Posted January 28, 2020 I always paint my Wild One drivers on the outside , the 'hi-gloss' look just isn't right when it's painted from the inside . I use plastic primer then Tamiya acrylics . I did paint my Ultima driver on the outside too and finished it off with a clear matt coat .
